Re: 11:00 AM Kickoff
I'm curious what the resident meteorologists are thinking for lightning forecast on tomorrow. Weather.gov lists thunderstorms all afternoon. Would that present the possibility we might have potential for a serious delay?

Re: 11:00 AM Kickoff
I don't mind the occasional 11 am game. It does make for an early morning but I like tailgating after the game. Growing up I enjoyed watching games at 11 am on Saturday. I don't like the direction the games are going now because it seems that the better games are usually all at 7 pm or later now. I understand prime time tv but I wouldn't mind watching a good game 2:30 followed by another good game at 7.

I like to go back after the game lay down, watch some football, take a nap, then power half an hour shower, and bar it up. Plus nothing better than schnapps early in the morning.

Wouldn't call it a lock yet, but I would say the 11 AM to 2:30 window is the least likely part of the day to see a lightning delay in Ames.

Honest question here, since they're potentially talking thunderstorms all day, what happens if we don't get a long enough break in thunderstorms during the day Saturday? Including warm ups and everything I would think we need at least a 3 hour window to be able to play a decent amount of football. Would they just keep delaying kickoff to later that night or would the game be postponed to a Sunday game? I don't think I've ever really heard of a college game being postponed.

If we play long enough I believe the game can be called early due to weather. I would have to look it up on how long that is but I think if we can get in a half that might be enough.

What was the game last year that ended around 2-3 AM?
EDIT: OSU vs Tulsa delayed start to 12:15 AM. That was the game.
Baylor vs S.F.A. was called in the 3rd quarter (Baylor was up 48-0)

I remember a game last year, OSU vs tulsa i think, that didnt start until after midnight and finished at around 330 in the morning. That was a fun way to end the night viewing from home.
