Re: Severe Weather: Potential of moving game to Sunday or December
Any updates from people that know what they're talking about? I'm going off the hourly on weather.com. It shows 70% chance or higher of storms every hour from 6 am to 8 pm. They switch to scary red letters at 3pm. I know red letters are bad..that's the extent of my weather knowledge.

Probably some pretty soggy tailgating, rain stopping (or at least tailing off to light showers/drizzle) near the start of the game. 2nd round (which would contain any of the major severe weather) likely would not start until after the game, and Ames would likely be on the far western edge of that target zone. ∞ -

Still looks to me like rain/storms for tailgating early....at least letting up for game--if not sunshine coming through--then a chance for strong/severe after the game, say 4pm-ish.
Best chance for big severe stuff is Missouri, then Iowa South of I-80 and East of I-35, though not ruling Ames out completely either....just not exactly in the heart of the highest risk.

I don't know much. All I know is that I'm afraid. Very, very afraid. To the core of my being, I know nothing but fear.

What kind of winds are we looking at during the tailgate? Wondering if the tents will be OK...

Re: Severe Weather: Potential of moving game to Sunday or December
Going to be pretty windy.
Winds from the south at about 15 mph, with gusts around 20 or 25 to begin with.
Of course within rain/storms the gusts will be worse.
