Re: Scalping tickets...................
Season tickets aren't really a good deal in terms of price, all they really do is guarantee the seat for the game. For example, I think if we add up the face value of all the ticket prices it's like $390 PLUS the Cyclones Club donation. last year I sold a bunch of tickets at face value and realized after-the-fact that I just lost that entire donation.

Its obvious that my cheapness has gotten the best of me and that my analysis of the situation was off base. Maybe its the fact that I make 30k a year and can't afford a 100$ ticket. No doubt it bothered me, but the masses have clearly indicated that I was incorrect in my thinking. I appreciate the discussion and GO CLONES!!

This may help determine "face value" and then a mark up from there is not to be unexpected.

Re: Scalping tickets...................
I give the OP credit, you at least looked at what others were saying.Too many times, a poster makes a claim and then continues on without ever looking at the other side of things. Last year my daughter and I went to a bball game at KU. We purchased seats 4 rows from the court. We paid a pretty price for the tickets. I did not begrudge the person we bought the tickets from. We had a GREAT time together, and created memories together. The only negative was the outcome of the game. Bottom line is we wanted to go to the game, we could afford to go, so we did.
We all get to decide what we are willing to pay for our entertainment. Some things I can not afford, other things I prioritize and make work.
Gladly accept the gifts of the present hour.

This is why you read a whole thread before spouting off. My bad. I'm glad the OP could understand the other side.

I appreciate the discussion and GO CLONES!! Yeah, I'm glad you could recognize our end. In my situation, at my donor and ticket level, it costs me double face value/ticket. That has to be factored in and I'm guessing I will pay a significant amount more for my tickets next year, especially if we win 8 or so games this year.

Re: Scalping tickets...................
I am one that sells tickets on here. This is my 43 year for season tickets. I have set in the upper level since the stadium has been open same seats. The last coulpe of years I have asked if any goods seats have open up down below. This year' 4 seats open up and I purchased them and kept my old seats also. To do this my donation went to $5000.00. When i'm asking $100.00 per ticket i'm still loosing money.

Re: Scalping tickets...................
As a post-student season ticket holder for 8 years now, it's so much nicer that your ticket is actually worth close to the value that's printed on the ticket. For TOO MANY years, it was embarrassing trying to sell a ticket that had a face value of $60 knowing you may get $10-$20 on gameday, if you were lucky.

Very true.

Re: Scalping tickets...................
I've never actually sold a ticket that I can remember. Too many times over the years I was the beneficiary of an extra ticket or two at our tailgate that I feel I should pay it forward and give them away when I have an extra(s). I'm not able to donate beaucoup bucks though, either, so I'm not talking about nearly the scratch some of you are.
I can see both sides of it. I am not a huge fan of the professional scalpers at the games, that's for sure.

Or plan better and buy from the ticket office and then you don't have to deal with people "ripping you off."

Re: Scalping tickets...................
Somebody sold two Club tickets and a parking pass for $350. For a game like this, I think it is a reasonable price. And I'll bet if we do the math, we will find that the seller lost money on these tickets.
On Saturday, some of us might be willing to pay much more to be able to go inside the club area in a storm!
I got seats in that section once. Got to sit across the aisle from Jake Sullivan. They even have heat lamps over the seats.
