The "monster man". This dates me, but I went to school at the same time as Matt. Even got to play in a couple of pick-up basketball games against him at Beyer. Great guy off the field......a terror on it. So fast for his size!

This is not entirely correct. Paul Rhoads asked him to come speak to the team today, so he is driving down from MN to do so. He is so far undecided if he will stay for the game tomorrow or not. He has already been to the games vs Tulsa and Tech.

I didn't see him at the other two, so I really hope he is there this week. Long before I was a Cyclone fan, I was a Viking fan during the Fran Tarkenton era. I would love to meet the Matt Blair that was the first linebacker I ever cheered for.

You can usually see him on the field during the games he is at. Since he retired from football he has been following his passion of photography. He is usually on the field with his camera or in the Jacobson building talking to other alums if they are there.
He wasn't planning on coming to this game until Rhoads personally asked him to give a speech to the team today. Whether or not he stays will probably be a spur of the moment decision.

That is how I remember him from watching the Vikings as a teenager.

This might not be entirely correct. On his call in show Monday, CPR mentioned Matt's visit, with the addendum that he has a son in school here.

Sat next to Matt Blair at a Spring Game, several years after he retired. Back when the games were still a little later in the year, and warmer. In a tank and shorts, he looked like he could be giving lessons out on the field.

I completely agree with your sentiment but LT didn't come into the league until the early 80s when Blair was on the backside of his career.
