Re: Refs today
I believe the horsecollar was the wrong call. But having said that, I would have probably made the same call at game speed.

Re: Refs today
I watched the game twice now. We outquicked or did something to their offensive line. There were more blatant holds by KSU and those holds were never called in that game. Biggest amount so far this year. The powers that be will make who they think is the best team in the Big 12 win the conference championship. The refs couldn't control last years OSU game. We played well enough to win, today we didn't. Lets go stomp on OSU again. THIS YEARS KSU GAME IS OVER.

Re: Refs today
The delay of game and 12 men breaking the huddle on KSU were easy calls the refs missed today. The TV announcers were even questioning some of the calls.

My dad complained about these refs and I've never heard him complain about refs ever in my whole life.

KSU did it. Is a horse collar dangerous or a choking move or just using another persons equipment to tackle them?

Re: Refs today
I thought KSU got away with a lot of holding early in the game, there was one really obvious one where the DE beat his guy and the OL grabbed him and dragged him to the ground by the facemask. All in all the officials were not doing ISU any favors, but they didn't completely blow a lot of calls either, which I am use to seeing when playing a highly rate opponent.
As for the high number of penalties for KSU compared to normal, I think you just tend to grab, and hold a little more when your team is in a dog fight, and KSU certainly was.

A horse collar means you only take them down by the collar from the back. If you watch the play again he also had a hand around in the front to pull him down.

Re: Refs today
I thought that they were bad both ways. Not just on ISU.

Re: Refs today
Bad bad bad all around. Missed calls and bogus calls. The PI that benefited us was bad, the PI that they missed on KSU early was bad, the targeting was bad, the horse collar was questionable, the Barnett late hit non-call was bad. And at least a couple of those were very big penalties that ended or sustained drives.
That said, it was not the officiating that lost us this game. They basically gave us 7 points on that bogus PI call.

Re: Refs today
Yes these refs were bad but they werent the reason we lost today.
A lousy offensive line who cant block squat is the reason for the Loss/ No running game/ lack of protection, I could go on and on but until rhoads gets both better O linemen and a better O Line Coach we will continue to lose and be in the bottom half of the big 12.
