I will say the rivalry between these two teams has amped up over the past few years. I enjoy that these two teams simply dont like each other, its good for both sides. Sitting by a KSU guy that runs recruiting information for a KSU website he was telling me just how much hate KSU fans have for ISU.

i'm close to k-state at every level. most cat fans see iowa state as fellow land granters too often and senselessly in the shadow of the downstream (in our case) U. i've never heard any venom directed at isu, like we hear at ou, ku and texas. this might be a big deal in ames - a faux rivalry - but it's certainly not that way down here. i'd guess most k-state fans would consider iowa state their second favorite team when playing any other school in or out of the league.

From ISU, this is our new rivalry. We don't like KSU, and I mostly don't like them because of that emaw slogan and that terrible excuse for a forum. But after a couple of days I want KSU to do well because they are from the old B12 North and resemble ISU in a lot of ways. I hope our program can take that next step, that KSU has done the past 2 seasons. Good luck with the rest of the season, show WV what B12 is all about.

I found KSU fans less obnoxious than many that come into JTS. They are certainly nowhere close to obnoxious Texas fans last year. Did have two drunk KSU girls on our hillside that were awful. Felt sorry for the toddler next to us when he observed that "that lady needs bigger pants" when one was jumping up and down and her jeans rolled down lower than her thong. And for those wanting pictures, trust me, it was not attractive. Mercifully they left at half, probably went out to drink more and passed out.

This game is not a rivalry and it will not be a rivalry. Not enough hate. KSU is right up there with OSU as my next favorite school in the conference - land grant, agricultural schools, dealing with larger, more prominent (arrogant) university in their own state - and for that reason, along with the lack of fanbase overlap, a rivalry will not develop.
