Original idea. Oregon State isn't exactly lighting the world on fire recruiting though, only 3 players higher than 3* in the last 3 seasons, including 0 this year. They are simply doing a good job of identifying players with potential higher than recruiting sites see, much like CPR.
They also are riding high being media darlings right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if they drop 3 of these last 7 games. (@ASU, Oregon, and either @Standford or @Washington)
And people wonder why there are so many recruiting rules in the NCAA. Every time someone comes up with an original idea someone else thinks they are getting an advantage and before you know it another rule is added to the book. I'm sure this will be considered an issue before long, especially if they get some recruits that big time schools are sniffing.
