Who cares how bad the OL may be this year. If we are throwing 40+ times and running 20ish times, the defense is gonna sit on the pass all day and we'll be ineffective. Just by attempting to run, we can free up our passing game. Or we can do what we've done today and let them have 2 deep safeties playing the pass basically the whole game. Whether it is effective or not, we have to get back to being more balanced.
Um they cannot run the ball because teams are taking the run away. Until the QBs start picking teams apart with their arm they will play to stop the run.
The gap in our economy is between what we have and what we think we ought to have--and that is a moral problem, not an economic one. - Paul Heyne
This "we can't run the ball" is BS. Compiled a table of the drives and play calls. Not perfect, because I made the TD pass a run, and some of the scrambles I assigned as passes, etc. But what it shows is that when we TRY to run the ball, we have longer drives and more 1st downs. It's just that easy. Even if you can't run great, you have to be balanced.
Three longest drives the yards came on passes, but the balance is what set it up.
For crying out loud, if I can find this, c'mon Mess, RUN THE FOOTBALL !!
