Big 12 needs to Expand

This conference is brutal as TCU and WV is finding out. That being said it is going to get more and more difficult for a team from the Big 12 to win a national title, not to mention get to 6-7 wins for bowl eligibility like Iowa State. B1G teams play 8 conference games and the conference isn't nearly as good.

I would love to see 2 addtions and divisions for football --- I think it would benefit everyone. Play 8 conference games with rotating crossovers.

Not sure how the playoff thing is going to work, that may make this a moot point - but not sure.

No. Don't dilute the payout. We have to rise up and it can be done. There is more to it than football too. BBall, volleyball, golf, cc track, ISU is in good shape.

I would say football and mens basketball would be the only sports you would base any decision as they are the only positive revenue sports. And yes the others matter but they are negative revenue.

Doesn't diluting the challenge dilute the pool of talented players who want to prove themselves?

I'd like to go to 12 teams too, but only expand if those 2 teams increase $$$ for everybody.

The trick is to find schools tha increase the value of our contracts but are easy wins.....

That pretty much leaves B1G teams

Byu if it could work out, they have limited upside in my mind because of their recruiting pool and competitions from Utah now, but will hit the occasional qb homerun.

BYU would be a member but the Big 12 needs to agree to change the date of the MBB conference championship from Sunday to Saturday since BYU will never agree to play on a Sunday (hence why they always get Thurs-Sat tournament draws.) They were close to joining but this is what prevented it.

Louisville is good enough in both sports that they would be acceptable. Boise is the other realistic option...with Cincinatti another option but I am not sure they are up to the task. They might be best suited to a return to dominating CUSA.

I think the future Big East is a joke and I hope it gets put down ASAP its a shame ND is joining the ACC in other sports because they could have formed a nice basketball conference with the Catholic BE schools Marquette, Depaul, Nova, Gtown, Providence, Johnnies. SD St and Boise should be ashamed of themselves for leaving the MWC for it especially SD St going to the freakin Big West in hoops and not even WCC.

Is a 14 team conference with Boise, BYU, Louisville, and Cinci better than what exists now? Maybe yes maybe no I can't really say. If it does expand though you have to give into BYU and move the basketball final to Saturday to get them. Huge fanbase.

The Big 12 would never take Boise St if for no other reasons than their academics aren't good enough and their only good sport is football. I know academics don't really matter, but I don't see the conference bringing in a school with a 6% 4-year graduation rate and a 26% 6-year graduation rate.
