I had a great time this weekend in Stillwater with fellow Storm Chasers! While there it became pretty apparent that there are some lessons we can learn from OSU.
While we don't have a monster benefactor like T Boone, the most important thing they learned is that once they dropped the money on the stadium the money came rolling in! The alumni finally had something they could be proud of! And once they had that season ticket sales and suite sales skyrocketed! Their suites are beautiful.
The comments repeated over and over is that it was like somebody flipped a switch on the program. The stadium got renovated and recruits couldn't wait to join the program "and we got better". "Our student enrollment got better, alumni donations got better, and our teams got better."
I do think they need to cut whatever that stupid song is that they sing after a score. They all stop cheering to sing, and when they're done singing they don't go back to cheering. It sucks the energy from their score! If we ever start scoring we need to make sure there are no stupid songs!
It's fun to see good people succeed. They're no Cyclones, but they're damn close.
