No reference to how he left his players, AD, fans, or program? What a crap article. How can you cheer for a man that left the way he did? He is a snake and I cant wait to rejoice in his firing.

The think that bugged me to most about Chizik as a coach was the emptiness of his interviews. He never really said anything. It was especially noticeable when he would be asked about injuries. Here is a "5-19" coach guarding injury info like it was going to be the factor that would make a difference in that week's game.

As I've told countless others on why I still root against him.

I don't blame him for leaving ISU for Auburn. Fact is, he was never going to be a long term coach, and he got offered a great coaching opportunity and went for it.

Why I root against him though is because how he handled the entire situation. He lied through smiling teeth saying he was "firmly entrenched" and left abruptly, and acted like he did nothing wrong the entire time. I try not to hold grudges, but I bleed cardinal and gold, and that **** doesn't fly with me.

This.... And the fact that he then used his boosters to buy him a 5 star QB and national title.

I still continue to find it interesting that there is so much more ill-will and outright hatred for Gene Chizik than for Greg McDermott. Chizik did do some good things for ISU, including recruiting a good base of players.

By comparison, I find it very hard to think of any long-term good that came out of McDermott's years at ISU, even though he was here twice as long as Chizik.
