How about Woody's block on the Jantz run? He chopped him good.

I agree. The O-line played well. I hope they gel and can keep moving forward. We will need them to have their best game of the year this week.

O-line players in the 60s are true football players. Where did you play?

I agree. I think they played well, and have gotten better as the year went on. OU is a big test for them.

I am no expert on OL play, but it looked like they simplified the blocking scheme, kept backs in to buy time, and did a really good job of creating a pocket. The BU defense is really bad, but they sent all of the front 7 and SJ a few times and the OL gave him enough time to get some passes off.

Re: How about some PRAISE for the offensive line!

I'm not in the habit of praising a unit for adequate play. We still had virtually no run game to speak of, and there were several plays when Jantz was running for his life - and this was against the worst defense in the BCS. They were okay, but if the O-Line plays like that this Saturday our offense will be shredded.

Going to have to protect an all out attack this week. Reserve my judgement, but good job last week.

I played guard and center in high school. I give the line some props for a good game. My position this year is that individual linemen have played good and backs/receivers have had good games, but never all at the same time. This was as close to having everyone play well as we've had since the Tulsa game. That being said, it is against the worst D in the conference statistically. We'll need better blocking than that this week to be in the game.

Since we're posting our resume in this thread, I played both left and right tackle on both sides of the line.

i've been pleased with our ability to pass protect. Our offensive linemen body build is that of a pass protector. IMO, we will not run the ball successfully with long lanky under-weight linemen. Gotta recruit another KO or two! Some downhill road-graders.

Re: How about some PRAISE for the offensive line!

My dad played offense line in college in northern CA and said the o-line has sucked in the past. Will have to get his take on Saturday's game. I thought they did good, but it was against Baylor. Will be see what happens this week against OU.

Re: How about some PRAISE for the offensive line!

if the o-line would have opened some holes then we would have had some big runs with baylor's d being so poor. they havent allowed many sacks at all this year, but the run blocking has been horrible so they get no priase
