Who gets remaining scholarships?
And what posistions do we need most? I say LB, but there are not a whole lot of LBs that are left out there that are very impressive. Alton Meeks - Yahoo! Sports (QB/LB- Cincinnati commit) just visited, and apparently has a friend on the team. Keith Kelsey Jr. - Yahoo! Sports has been a guy I have been pretty high on for a while. We still have a decent change to get him. Another guy worth mentioning is JUCO Samson Faifili - Yahoo! Sports who is 5'11" 240. He has a visit at ISU in a few weeks. We NEED at least one LB..... I really doubt we go after another QB, but given the QB play this year we might just see the coaches go after IWCC kid Jake Waters. In 9 games, Waters has only attempted 237 passes, but has completed 75% of them for 2740 yards, 33 td and just 3 ints!! If we do go after him and get hime somehow, then it would be a good chance that Lanning or Hodge would switch to a didfferent position. I am thinking the coaches may want 1 more WR, but I could be wrong. At TE I think we are set. On the OL, I would like to see one more commit. I really wanted to see Jake Campos swtich to the good guys, but now I am hoping we land Shawn Curtis - Yahoo! Sports . A new RB has emerged, but I don't see us signing another RB. Bryce Peters - Yahoo! Sports from Houston, TX is high on ISU, and he looks pretty decent. I think with this years and last years recruits, we should be big, quick and nasty on the d-line for a few years. I'm sure we won't go after another d-lineman, but I wouldn't mind seeing Bobby Leath - Yahoo! Sports in Cardinal & Gold! I really hope that Rodney Coe is out of the picture. DB Vontarius West - Yahoo! Sports is still not commited anywhere. Do we pursue him still, or are we done with DBs?
Anyone know exactly how many schollys are remaining? And what positions would you like to see us use those schollys on?

Re: Who gets remaining scholarships?
I think the max in any given year is 25. I don't recall what the grey shirt situation is but it would appear ISU has 20 commits at this point. So your wish list probably needs to be pared down to 5 more recruits for this year.

Re: Who gets remaining scholarships?
If I remember correctly, theres about 20 seniors on scholarship, and I believe we are sitting at 84 scholarship players right now. Assuming one or two players transfer, we would have around 22-23 scholarships to use.
We have 20 commitments right now, but Glenn is a grayshirt so he won't count against this class. That means we have given 19 scholarships away now.
If we have four scholarsips left, these are the positions I would most like addressed:
1. Linebacker
2. Offensive Linemen
3. Defensive Line
I would like us to wrap up this class with Curtis, Campos, Meeks, and some defensive linemen. I was hoping we would get DE Randy Gregory but it looks like he is probably headed to Nebraska now.

Re: Who gets remaining scholarships?
Iowa State needs to go after Jake Waters. I don't think Lanning will be a QB here. Physically, he can play just about anywhere on the field. As for passing, I rarely see him do it because Ankeny doesn't pass much.
Waters would be great to start for 2 years and then hand the reigns to Hodge as a RSo.

If we have 4 spots, I would want: Campos, Curtis, Leath and West. Backups would be Meeks or McClain. To me it's about getting the best talent rather than position nit picking right now.

Re: Who gets remaining scholarships?
Well, I think Waters is better than Rohach. I think Hodge is more athletic than Rohach.

Didn't he say he would be here is ISU offered? Seems athletic and has good numbers. Not to mention the chemestry is already there if Wimbrey plays
