Paul Rhoads on Jevohn Miller

Not going to write a big story on this but I thought I'd share some quotes from Paul Rhoads after last night's practice regarding sophomore Jevohn Miller:

“Jevohn has been playing more MIKE linebacker even before this. That might be a future move for him. He plays with more confidence in there I believe. With that being the game plan preparation with him also right now, he’s had a good week of practice.”

“He’s a big body, similar to Jake and A.J. He’s a big body that can run. He does not have the experience obviously that they do so the football smarts aren’t showing up yet. But, I told him earlier today as I was watching some clips of film with him, I think he is doing some certain things better as a true sophomore than Jake and A.J. were doing as true sophomores. That doesn’t mean he is going to get to their level by the time it is all said and done but right now he’s doing things better than they did at that age.”

I'm surprised Rhoads feels Jevohn will fit best at MIKE. Does that mean Jeremiah moves to SAM? I'd think next season both will be on the field at the same time

Sounds to me like little Knott will be in the mix at linebacker next year. Hearing that he's taking after big bro, putting on weight and could very well be a factor.

It's a really interesting comment. It sounds enough like coachspeak that a person can be cynical, but combined with reason from a guy we trust a lot, both from character and his track record.

Looking forward to seeing Miller out there. Of course he isn't Jake Knott (yet, or maybe ever), but that's why Jake is special. Miller should do just fine. Probably won't hurt him to get the extra attention Jake will probably be giving him.
