Tidbit on Saturday's game
The Cyclones are 5-3. The Sooners are 5-2. That's five combined losses for the two programs. Add up the records of the five teams that have beaten Iowa State and Oklahoma this season and it's 35-4. Not bad.

DAMN YOU TECH AND OSU! DAMN YOU STRAIGHT TO HELL!
“They're very, very hard to guard,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. “They're really good. And with Niang in the middle kind of wheeling and all those guys spreading you out, they're kind of a nightmare matchup. And they're men. They're really men.” -

We should be 6-2 or 7-1...
Tech and K-State.... Opportunities missed.

Re: Tidbit on Saturday's game
Unfortunately, all four of the losses come from teams that beat us. We could have just as easily let Iowa slip through our fingers and it would be very tough right now. I hope that our D holds up without Knott. Maybe we sneak a win this weekend... GO CYCLONES!

Re: Tidbit on Saturday's game
KST beat OU by 5 and us by 6 both on the road. Jack Trice and a crazy inspired crowd can give us the edge - as always we need to win the turnover battle - I think I heard CPR state on his show we are undefeated the past 2 or 3 years when we win the turnover battle.

The Good: We are better than our record indicates
The Bad: So is Oklahoma

The Bad: So is Oklahoma I completely agree with the first part. The second part... that I am not so sure about. Over the years and this year as well the one thing that has been the weakness of the Oklahoma football team is D-E-F-E-N-S-E, and I am not talking about OU's defensive unit. Oklahoma's bread and butter is their offense. Oklahoma can throw the ball all over the field but only when their run game is clicking. Much like Baylor's offense... if you can put the clamps on OU's running game their offense becomes much easier to slow down. In their loss to K-State the Sooners were held to 88 yards on the ground. In their loss to Notre Dumb the Sooners were held to an amazing 15 yards rushing.

That is an amazing stat.

"Lies, damned lies, and statistics", Mark Twain.
It's four teams not five (K-State beat each of us)
All four losses belong to the teams that have beaten I-State only (Tech and OSU).
OU has lost to two undefeated teams - albeit each at home.
We've lost to 3 decent-to-good teams and played bad offensive games in two of those. It's water under the bridge. Beat OU.

Opportunities missed. i think it is safe to say that kstate and ttech are clearly better teams than us at this point. could we have won? sure, but we didn't. watching each of those games, i felt we were going to lose throughout. we couldn't muster anything offensively and if you look at the stats, we got dominated in those games. the defense just kept us in them.
we also could have easily lost to tcu and iowa. playing the woulda coulda shoulda game can go both ways.

we also could have easily lost to tcu and iowa. playing the woulda coulda shoulda game can go both ways. Putting those games in order of how easily they could have flipped:
1) Iowa, if Knott doesn't make the pick at the end, they are close to a TD.
2) K-State, if we can pull off one long drive
3) Tech
4) TCU
Going 2-2 in those four games is to be expected. That's not to say that we couldn't have gone 3-1 or 4-0, but saying "We should be 6-2 or 7-1" is just not correct
