Re: Do any you go into a game that you feel like we can't win?
I've gone to games starting in the late 70's that I felt like we couldn't win up until about 2 years ago. Youth is wasted on the young or whatever.

I was in the ISUCFVMB back in the late 80's and early 90's. Life was a lot different then. I feel we can win any game since sitting through the Nebraska game in 92, where we had no shot with the 3rd string guy against Tommy Frasier yet we won. I wish I could have been at the 90 OU game where we last won, the only time in my lifetime. We can win any game. We just need to beat OU and soon. Go State!

Last season I saw Oklahoma as the only un-winnable game when the season began. By the time we went to Norman, I thought we had a chance as we just beat Okie State and Barnett appeared to have the "it" factor.
This year I saw every game as more than winnable. In fact Saturday's game is the first we've had where I don't expect a Cyclone victory.

I think we can win any game, I really do including this saturday. Lets go STATE! OU is the exception for me. ANY other team on the schedule we face year after year, i think we have shot at. OU is, and has proven to be a different beast. There are no other teams on our schedule that can match their talent + coaching + history + record against us. OU has one of the best coaches of all time and the recruits to match and that is the only team in the big 12 that can say that imo. mack brown underachieves every year (sans vince young). k-state has one of the best coaches ever with OK talent. A$M has/had always underachieved. TTech failed by letting leach go and so did kansas with mangino. WV has proven to be a paper tiger. so on and so forth. OU is on a different level to the rest of the big 12.
based on history, i see no hope for this game and won't be all that disappointed when we lose. OU is an elite team and we aren't there yet. i think we get to 6/7 wins, but not via OU.

If there was anyway we could jump out to a 10-14 point lead and we could get a turnover or two. Is that possible ? I don't have a ****ing clue but Stoops to me is the X factor as he usually has a pretty solid game plan for ISU. If we have any chance to win the game we have to stop the run and I don't think we have the speed to contain them.

Not anymore. There were plenty of games over the past 30+ years where I thought "We have no chance.'" Like another post mentioned above, these days I watch these ranked teams in other conferences and see teams with could play with and beat. Life is good under Rhoads and I agree we have come quite a ways from just 4 years ago.
Cheers

This is one of them but I do know there is a chance. Under past coaches I KNEW there was zero chance.

prove me wrong clones...dare. I don't consider Stoops nearly the coach that you do. It seems to me that they lay eggs far too often considering their talent.
I actually think he's an overrated coach.

GO STATE!!! I know the transitive property of football is bull, but after how Miami played KSU and how ISU played KSU I don't know how anyone would feel that ISU couldn't play with them.

I actually think he's an overrated coach. Stoops is an overrated coach when it comes to big time games against big time teams outside of the Big XII. Stoops and the Sooners have dominated the Big XII since the guy took the job in Norman with few exceptions. He typically beats Texas like a drum and dominates everyone else in the Big XII on a regular basis. Get him outside the Big XII conference though and it is a different story. That is when his teams typically fail to show up for one reason or another. He suffered bad losses to LSU, USC, Florida, Boise State, West Virginia, etc.... It isn't as if those teams had overall superior talent to what OU had but for some reason in those games OU didn't show up prepared to play and you can pin that directly on the coaching staff.

Exactly the reason I sat at home last year and watched the OSU game on TV. That was that a mistake, so never again.
Go State!

Re: Do any you go into a game that you feel like we can't win?
I think this thread is proof that we are continually "turning the corner" under CPR. Ask this question when we had the Chiz here and people would have lauged at you.
It is also key to building up the fanbase. If we feel like we can compete and win in every game, people are more willing to buy tickets, make it a point to watch on TV, etc. If people think we will get blown out, they will just find other things to do with their time.
