Rhoads would absolutely take the Texas job, especially if he was the first guy they went after. Every coach in America wants to be THE BEST coach in America. Tough to do that without multiple National Championships... I agree with alot of this, but I just don't see him makin a move within the conference. Seems like a major no-no.

I think Texas should hire Chizik. <inserts evil laugh>

That's Rhoads year by year win totals, to an outsider, no there hasn't been obvious improvement.

Re: Texas is hunting for a coach
I'm not saying he wouldn't jump if offered....as I don't know him personally and yadda yadda...
However, he did take less of a salary to make sure we got the new football facility done and was more interested in improving our facilities than making more money. To me this means he is looking to build something special. I just hope (selfishly) he stays for the long haul.

I highly doubt Saban ever said that.

It sounds like Mean Eugene will be looking for a job. Heard this discussed on sports radio this week after their loss to ISU. Briles should have bolted last year with RGIII. He could have been a frontrunner at Arkansas or Texas next year if they kept it together, but he is now is looking at going from 6-3 to 1-8 in the Big 12.
Like the Chiz and Cam, Briles seems to have been a product of RGIII.

I guess if you're in a position where you are selecting coaches and you can't see there has been dramatic improvement in the ISU program, your own program is probably doomed anyway.

Re: Texas is hunting for a coach
Maybe I am wrong but as long we keep setting attendance records, improving facilities, win consistently, I see Rhoads going no where. And Texas is in conference, no way he leaves for another Big 12 school.

I know he coached there but Florida is just as good of a job as Texas or at least in the ball park.
Only advantage that UT has is that while the Big12 is tough its not the SEC, however if you can win the SEC you are by default an automatic in to the NC game
“It’s beyond pride. It’s a restored trust. There’s a confidence again, a passion that teeters on swagger. More than anything, (Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads) has restored the Iowa State “it” factor, the steadfast belief that it is great to be a Cyclone...the man’s enthusiasm is genuine to the core...” – columnist Sean Keeler, Des Moines Register -
