Kyle Stephenson -- South Tama

I know he has been on some unofficial visits and I'm not saying he is worthy of an offer right now but I think we need to go after him hard. From what I hear he is an extremely hard worker and could turn into a scholarship player. After watching a couple games, he is the real deal. Ended his season tonight in the quarterfinals leading class 3a in rushing.

I really like this kid, but I'm worried that he couldn't put enough weight on to be a Woody, but isn't fast enough to be a normal back

He played really well tonight. But it also helps that tama runs an offense that has no wr and runs a triple stacked I formation with a lineman right behind the qb. He is a good rb and will be playing on Saturdays, but for the cyclones Idk.

STC runs out of the I formation,they ran the triple stack I in the 3 playoff games only. That saying he looks like a tough kid someone that would fit at ISU.

Watch that 90 yd return...as he crosses the goal line he could've ran for the corner and easily scored but he purposely ran at the defender so he could run him over...I love it!

clonehenge, thats the part I liked the most about it as well. He could've gave up and scored easily but he wanted to leave a mark. This is the type of player we need that wants to run someone over.

Saw him early in the year and he shredded our defense. As others have said great balance, took hits stayed on his feet and kept going. He has speed, out ran some of the fastest on our team for a couple of TD's. He has good size and a big motor. He probably carried the ball 20-25 times that night and never seem to tire.

Would be a player worth giving a shot too. Could see him making himself into a solid D-1 player.

I've known Kyle his entire life.Great kid. 3.4gpa.Was 5th as junior in state in 100 meters.If you think his junior yr highlights are good,you should see his senior yr highlights.Over 2100 yds rushing. Not sure how to get you there,but are at "hudl".Someone smarter than me can find them and post. Kyle deserves a shot.Would be a great addition to the team.

I was also an Iowa First Team All-Stater and Scholastic Magazine All-American RB from South Tama ... My old teammate is the head coach, and he told me last year to watch this kid.. On his highlight films the kid is tough and has great leg drive ... not afraid to take a hit .... seems to be very durable.. They look as if he was used in the slot and as an I-Back for his is versatile... He has good hands and is a 4.5. He would be perfect for a possession type player... much like Welker from the PATS... Iowa State had a fine year and could use him for those 3rd down conversion and or Kick-off returns.. Good luck in getting this kid. I think he is a diamond in the rough. Jon Lazar Iowa Captain 78
