Was that punt in the Endzone?
Don't know for those who saw it on TV, but the replays in the stadium looked like the ball broke the plane and then bounced back out. Can someone provide a screenshot?

If it never broke the plane, the ball should have been at around the 2.5-3 where the defender caught it after the bounce.

Re: Was that punt in the Endzone?
The video was inconclusive. Pretty sure the call could have gone either way. If the referee would have said it was a touchback and they would have reviewed it then it would have stayed a touchback.
The referee was standing right on the goal line about 10 yards away staring at the ball when it hit- cant get a much better look than that....

One of many bad calls by the zebras today

Re: Was that punt in the Endzone?
Eh, it might of but it wasn't conclusive enough. Just like they didn't overturn the Givens interception return because there wasn't conclusive evidence that he stepped out of bounds.

The tip of the ball clearly landed on the goal line. The replay was even stopped with the ball touching the line. Couldn't believe they didn't correct that.

Disappointed though I was, no one had a better view than the official who was standing directly on the goal line.
I do also wonder, though, why it was spotted on the 1 instead of the 2.5-3 range, where it was controlled?

Inconclusive? Really? I don't know what's inconclusive about the ball touching the damn line.

Re: Was that punt in the Endzone?
It broke the plain, quite clearly. The announcers and the replay officials were smoking major crack on it.
From each angle it looked to have broken the plane by 6 inches.

Another thing is that the shadows were pretty incredible at that point and the shadow of the ball maybe blocked any chance of the call being reversed by use of replay.

This I could have seen from either perspective, on the punt I saw nothing that remotely sold me the ball didn't cross the plane. It looked like it crossed it live and it REALLY looked like it crossed in slow mo and frozen still.

Re: Was that punt in the Endzone?
Ultimately, who cares if it crossed the goal line? Who cares if the ball was on the 1 yard line or the 3 yard line? We got a 6 yd pass, -1 yd pass, and an incomplete..... 3 and out. The referees arent going to be suspended, it wasnt going to decide the game...... no use in crying about it now.

Well it sure had a big part in it. Didn't they score the put away touchdown after that? That could have been a 20 yard change in field position.
