Good to hear Manatee is doing well, do you have any idea if ISU coaches are still a strong presence down there at all? I haven't noticed many Manatee references in our recruiting this year

Need to get West the ball more on those end around plays that he scored on yesterday. Would also like to hand it to guys like Shontrelle, Nealy, and Horne on those end arounds too once in a while. It at least keeps the DEs more honest in their outside containment responsibilities, which in turn should open up the zone read too IMO.
As for Bundrage, this kid's going to be a beast. He's already emerging as one of Steele's favorite targets it appears. The guy goes after and catches nearly everything thrown his way. I'm very excited about the future of the WR's in Bundrage, Quan West, and Ecby.

White is better on the straight running plays, but I really like Johnson if you can get him in space with the pass.

Nice to turn to ESPN this morning and see #9 of the top 10 plays was the tipped pass that Bundrage caught yesterday.

Albert Gary and Jeff Woody

I'm really excited about Bundrage. He needs to be starting in my opinion and get at least 6 targets each game (preferrably more)
I like Shontrelle, I would like to see him in the slot. He has the tools, it's just not translating very well at RB right now. Don't get me wrong, he has done some things well, but JW is playing better there right now. SJ in the slot might be the answer, because he needs to be on the field. Keeps the jet sweep, reverse, and some option looks in play for him, and allows him to catch a few balls out in space.

Horne will continue to see a drop off in playing time and Bundrage more.

With the emergence of guys like Chris Young and Bundrage, combined with the production of West and Gary, I see no reason for Horne to get much playing time from here on out - barring injury or the need to spell one of those guys for a few plays here and there.

My vote would be Bruns, Woody and JW. Also, more wheel type routes to TE and RB's.

Re: 2 guys who need to get the ball ALOT more
Jon Davis and RJ Sumrall need to have the ball in their hands more.
That is all.
“They're very, very hard to guard,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. “They're really good. And with Niang in the middle kind of wheeling and all those guys spreading you out, they're kind of a nightmare matchup. And they're men. They're really men.” -

West, Bundrage, Gary and Brun will be fun to watch next season. That is a solid group of receivers, finally!

Doing well is not the word for it. Out of 14,000 high schools across the nation 7 of the 9 polls that rate high school football on a national basis have Manatee rated #1. calpreps.com
Most of this years D1 prospects are already committed Sandberg to Miss St, Lauro to Akron, Christmas to FSU, Keller to UCF. The big guy Derick Calloway (well I gues he is the big guy until he stands next to Christmas) has ISU on his list but he has offers from about 15 schools so I wouldn't hold my breath.
The thing is Manatee is loaded for at least 2 more years, they start only 3 seniors on offense and the JV & Freshman teams both went undefeated. Losing Sandberg is going to hurt but they have 2 QBs behind him that could have started for any other team in the county. If ISU could keep the Manatee pipeline open there is a ton of tallent coming up.

Re: 2 guys who need to get the ball ALOT more
I want to see a lot of guys get the ball more. Part of the problem when having a lot of weapons (yes, I believe we have more weapons this year than we had in the past) is it's hard to get everybody a lot of touches. It's especially hard when you can't sustain drives.

We used to run that play with Lane Danielson starting in the slot and running an end around alot. Even when we didn't give him the ball, the threat was always there and opened up some holes for the RB's. I think we should do the same thing with Jarvis.
