I get what OP means, but to assume that we're going to the bowl is not a smart idea.
A lot of people assumed that in 2010 we would easily beat a trainwreck called Colorado Buffaloes. And we knew what happened in that game.
This season there is no guarantee that we'll beat Kansas, assumed to be a sure win by a lot of people. With how offense has been performing and the injuries we have on the defense, there is no "sure" win anymore. Don't forget that KU hang tough against Texas.
Hey, we are very forunate to be playing in a BCS league. (You do remember 2010, right?) We are already playing the best teams in the country every Saturday in Jack Trice Stadium and in other equally branded venues.
What team would we play in mid December, in some half empty stadium that is going to be anywhere in the caliber who we haven't already played?
I'm just going to resort to personal attacks until I get neg rep ability.
“They're very, very hard to guard,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. “They're really good. And with Niang in the middle kind of wheeling and all those guys spreading you out, they're kind of a nightmare matchup. And they're men. They're really men.”
