I've watched firstrowsports several times. I've never had a fee or a problem with a virus from it. It's good if it's your only option but far from a high quality option as opposed to regular tv broadcast. It does beat out sitting and watching Sportscenter for a 10 second highlight especially when Sportscenter will be looking for Texas highlights and kissing their a** the whole game.

That is why you tell them, 'no, if you want the game you will give it to us for Cyclones.tv or we will put it on FOX'.

Originally Posted by snowcraig2.0 That is why you tell them, 'no, if you want the game you will give it to us for Cyclones.tv or we will put it on FOX'. Doesn't work that way. The way I understood KU's game contract last year with LHN is that ONLY your local ABC affiliates get to choose to broadcast the game locally because ABC and ESPN (LHN=ESPN) have their own contractual agreements and advertising revenue split.
And if you haven't figured it out yet, ESPN is desperately trying to get the big nationwide boys in DirecTV, Dish, TWC, Comcast, etc. to broadcast nationwide to recoup LHN's $300M promise. Net - No allowance for ANY other "national network" including a tiny Cyclone.tv stream.
So unless I see some proof here otherwise, I'm still believing JP simply signed for a rather meager $500K payout just like the KU AD friends told me they were paid last year for their UT game in Austin with the local ABC ability so to at least not tick off their majority Kansas fanbase.
Sucks to be a Cyclone fan out of state right now, huh?? The ISU Alumni Assoc is firing a bunch of "nothing we can do about it" emails to their gamewatch clubs all over the country (well, except in Iowa). Ironically, they'll be hosting their $30 tailgate down here in Austin before going into the game ...

UT should allow this to be streamed via Cyclones.tv. Then, the revenue from any new memberships sold between now and Saturday could be split between the schools. win win.

Think you're missing the point. LHN (at least last year) wants every single national cable/dish provider to pay 40 cents for every single one of their cable subscribers regardless if the provider actually then provides LHN to that subscriber or not. DirecTV has 20M subscribers alone. Theoretically that is $8M/year right there. Time Warner and Comcast even larger!
If you're LHN with a $300M revenue promise over the next 7 years, you don't want to have maybe 10-20K or so internet-savvy people (or sports bars) trying to stream a game on their PC for $10 for that ONE allowed conf game of the year (ie, $200K?). No, you want people to scream and whine to their provider to cough up MILLIONS for LHN all year long (and the ad revenue that also comes with that).
Make sense now? So basically ISUAD gets $500K in the coffers, Iowa-based fans are happy with their ABC feed, and ISUAA and out-of-state fans get really screwed. But when you think about it - which fan base is bringing in the most revenue to ISUAD? <-- those that pay to go to the games and/or buy lots of licensed swag in any Iowa shop. And then there's a few out-of-state Cyclone Club donors like me that expect ISU section tix for all Texas games
