Re: You can watch future Clone Joel Lanning on TV right now.
Rivalries are built. The only rivalry ACHS will have, is with AHS. It can build them with SEP, DCHS, and VHS, but it's gonna take sometime and some good, close, playoff games. No meaningless regular season games. My younger brother will be playing for Centennial next year so I'm switching from Hawk to Jag. Sucks. But hey J. Pezz gonna win one more in 50 seasons, which equates to 2.

Ankeny Centennial will be the north half of town, it will be way on the north edge. Ankeny High school is the new building already in use on Ankeny Blvd. (Hwy 69) - that will be for the south half of town, divided roughly along first street.

So will the current Ankeny high continue using the football field at what is now the Middle School on the north side of town? And will that middle school now funnel kids to Centennial?

Lanning is listed at 6-2 205, but you are right, he's a lot bigger now. I talked to the Ankeny qb coach last week and he said Lanning is now playing at 230.

Maybe there will be a big controversy and Pezzetti will have to leave the Hawks and move to East Dillon, I mean Centennial.

It's on right now -- use the link in the very first post in this thread for the web cast.
(I don't know what the stadium usage situation will be.)
Re: You can watch future Clone Joel Lanning on TV right now.
Lanning looks like a good runner. Hard to tell on the passes, as it appears like he has a good arm but decides where the ball is going before the play starts. Perhaps that is the way it's called, or maybe it's a reaction to coverage. Either way, he's pretty big and fast.

Holy cow the punt return was crazy. Bunch of great blocks.
Re: You can watch future Clone Joel Lanning on TV right now.
He is very athletic but lacks accuracy would love to see him at linebacker.

I would love him to be a Collin Klien.

When he's not throwing off his back foot, his accuracy is decent. But he definitely locks in on receivers and throws off his back foot too frequently.
I don't expect him to stay at QB, but I think he has some passing flaws that are correctable, which could make him an intriguing player with his running instinct and athleticism. Not to get crazy, but there are some running plays where he reminds me of Collin Klein.
