Is he making reads, or are these designed runs?

He is a lot bigger than last year. I would say 220-230.

Had no idea we had a channel 19

That's what I'm wondering. Looks like the zone read; or, at least something similar to it. Whatever it is, he ran it really well.
Ankeny wins 28-12 over SE Polk.

Congrats to them and we'll see you next year.
Anyone know how they plan to split the 2 schools up. May be a very long time before they have that much talent on one team.

P.s. I swear they had 120-130 players suited up.

With the split I don't think Ankeny's rivalries with Dowling and SEP will be the same. Does anybody pick up a rivalry with Centennial too? Or do you think it will remain just the Hawks, if it's still a rivalry at all? I don't know, I'm just glad I graduated from Ankeny before the split. I think it was a terrible decision.

I think its slightly bigger than high school football. My 4 mo old will eventually go to Ankeny, her quality of education is slightly more important than winning some meaningless games. Sorry to those who peaked in high school.

Next Friday's game should be good, two 13-0 teams squaring off in Ankeny and Cedar Rapids Xavier.

Basically north and south, based on the location of the new HS facilities, although I haven't seen a map. I believe Ankeny will essentially be divided by 1st Street.
I've heard rumors that a lot of the future football talent is looking to relocate to the northern part of town towards the "new" high school, Ankeny Centennial. No idea if that is true, but I've heard the same thing from a couple of people with older kids in the system.
It'll be about 15 years until my own are in HS, so I couldn't care less. -

Z Meh, what's a rivalry without a little smack talk. Didn't mean to hurt feelings, just some good natured ribbing. My bad, it was probably unwarranted. Sorry.
