well, iowa is losing to purdue by 10 late in the 3rd. we're only down 16 at texas...so...at least we're not iowa.
that call by mack was stupid to go for it with the pass. i realize the thought process, break their spirit now. but to not run it when you have been crushing us up front? silly. also, it would have put them up 3 scores to just go for it and you team has been dominating. he almost lost to kansas on a similar stupid call. get the impression he just thinks "we are texas, so this will work."
now we are only down 2 scores. inept, but only down 2 scores.
I just lost feed.
feed gone :(
The link was nice while it lasted. Oh well. Pretty ugly game for us, and the LHN announcers were unbearable, well at least the one homer was.
Net - As a business man if I were JP it basically comes down to - would the out-of-state fans/alum somehow generate ~$500K of extra merchandise sales or Cyclone Club/Gridiron donations if they were to all watch that one game? Or would I *lose* $500K if they couldn't? ... think you can see the thought process as this is also what likely went thru the KU AD's head last year :-(
Granted you now know you didn't miss much of a game ... it sucked even worse to be there in person surrounded by 98K burnt orange fans everywhere! But next time Longhorn Network comes up (and it will again for lower-budget ADs like Iowa State) - such as basketball last Jan - make your out-of-state opinion known to JP in advance before he thinks about doing this again! If you're active in the ISU Alumni Assoc. abroad, make it known to Jeff Johnson that having no gamewatch/comradery/etc sucks too!
