Observations and apology
Observations
Offense:
In every game you can point to at least one big issue with the offense. One game it's wide receivers not catching balls, another it's the line not providing adequate protection, some games it is the entire offensive unit. It's one thing to have a part of the offense having issues but when it is the entire offense having problem that is extremely worrisome.
Also, to me there hasn't been any improvement in the offensive unit as a whole over the course of the season. Sure every once in a while you will see glimpses of a good offense, but that is it glimpses. Even though Kansas has only won a single game you can argue that you are at least seeing improvement from week to week from an offensive standpoint, unlike ISU.
ISU's problem isn't at one specific position or person, it is the entire offense.
Defense:
ISU's defense was good, however, injuries and a lackluster offense have hurt them. You can't have your defense playing on average twice as long as your offense and expect them to maintain the same results throughout the season. Also, with the offense going 3 and out consistently the defense will get tired faster and more sloppy. Add on the fact that now the defense is starting inexperienced players only compounds the issues.
Lastly, I apologize for being an *** with some of my posts. I just get angry at the fact that this is D1 football and ISU looks like we belong at the high school levels.
You don't need top level talent to do great things look at K-State this year and Kansas a few years ago. You can achieve great things without top tier talent. I just wish it was ISU's turn.

Re: Observations and apology
I share your disappointment and frustration with the offense. It clearly isn't going anywhere.

Dont see anything wrong with the video i am so tired of the bs that happens here. Oh were poor old iowa state we cant recruit like everyone else are facilities are sub par our god damn endzone isnt bowled in. Ill tell ya what i know some of these players on this team not to mention the twitter accounts. These kids dont care about winning alls they are worried about is getting a free ride a select few using us as a highway to the nfl. They dont care for example last week they had a damn party after a loss. Im not gonna mention who was there but there were many key players there. Its a joke im tired of being mediocre and mediocre is an overstatement

There will be Bama players getting drunk and chasing women tonight. That's just a fact.

Looking for a positive from this game? I think the kick returns were the best I've seen this season! It was nice to see an effort there! Also, when we did run the ball we ran it well! Nice to see SJ and JW run it so well! Too bad we didn't stay with it.

It's hard to ignore something so obvious. I blame cymate, but I salute him for the huge post of the day.

Re: Observations and apology
People have GOT to get over K State. K State is the absolute rarity. That doesn't happen everywhere. K State got very lucky with Colin klein. I doubt even they had any idea he would turn into what he has and guess what? You take Klein off that team and they probably have 3-4 losses and are scratching to stay in the top 25.
Serioulsy, if I hear or read one more person compare us or anyother team to K State I'll lose it. Of course that'll be all I hear from now until old man river retires in 2032.

Its a joke im tired of being mediocre and mediocre is an overstatement You honestly think this is unique to ISU? Can you get any more naive? This happens at EVERY FBS school and the vast majority of FCS schools (probably excluding some of the dedicated Christian universities such as Liberty). Hell - this probably happens at every level of college football. And it has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with performance on the field.
You sound depressed - if you're going to go all emo on us perhaps you can come cut my lawn instead of cutting yourself...

Re: Observations and apology
Texas is giving up 40 points per game in conference play, and what do we do? We score 7. My observation on this board is that folks are more concerned about being critical of those who criticize our team and program than they are of the team's performance itself.
What I saw last week was a team that got soundly beat and further diminish our head to head record to 5-70-2. And nobody cared.
This program is apparently on the up and up. Okay......so where are the results on the field? Offensively, we have an oline that can't block, receivers that can't catch or get separation and quarterbacks that can't throw. I don't have too much gripe with the defense other than the poor pass rush. Injuries happen and the offense is hurting more than helping. But where does it go from here? Both sides of the ball have to improve, but will they? From my amateur assessments, it appears we'll be the same or worse next year. So when do we get more than 6 wins? 7 wins(we still haven't seen this number in the regular season)? When do we finish higher than 8th in the big 12? Fan support at games has been fantastic, but that wont last if we can only manage is 6 wins at most. Are we always going to be Iowa State, home of the clown show?
