But he has been playing GREAT though - really solid.
He would be better if we gave him time or caught the ball once in a while.

And Barnett is better? Guy hasn't even sniffed a 50% completion rating this year. I'm just saying why would change QB's with only 2 games left. It's absurd to even think about it now. Like NATE said, if our o-line would block and our WR's would catch the damn ball he would be perfectly fine. Keep on blaming Steele though, it keeps me entertained.

Jantz - 1 Big 12 win in 2 years - against the worst defense in college football history

    Barnett - 4 Big 12 wins in 2 years - wins against @#19 TTU, #2 OSU and @#13 TCU

Sorry, I will go with the results. Does Barnett light the world on fire and is just an amazing passer?? No.... but we tend to play better when he the QB. Sorry.

Also, Same O line and receivers.

Maybe Aaron Horne and Barnett have a secret alliance to take down Jantz.

Taking out Jantz would be the worst thing right now. I think it would be as bad as CPR taking out Barnett in the Pinstripe Bowl last year. Jantz is not bad enough to sit on the bench.

This. A lot of cocky predictions in this thread...of course we're the better team, but that doesn't mean we'll play better.

    Re: will we beat kansas?

Kansas had 29 passing yards and 390 rushing yards against TTech; 39 passing yards and 234 rushing yards against UT.

Their O (James Sims) plays right into the strength of our defense. Question is can our O remove head from anus. I'll be there yelling along with what seems like a pretty big contingent of Cyclones.

I think we'll win this Saturday and also beat WVU and then go on to beat Minn (or Purdue) in the Meineke Car Care bowl in Houston to finish the season 8-5.

If I had to guess, I'd say we're going to the Pinstripe Bowl again against Syracuse (like we should have in 2010). Really pulling for SU against Missery this weekend.

If we end up 7-5 and TCU ends up 6-6 (which is very likely, they play UT and OU), then I was under the impression that the bowls are now required to pick the team with the better record (I know it wasn't like that when we passed up Mizzu in 09, but I thought that had changed). If that's the case, then the Meineke bowl will be required to pick us with the 6th pick, unless a higher bowl already took us since we could be tied at 7-5 with Tech and/or OSU.

I was assuming a 6-6 finish for us (don't hate).

    Re: will we beat kansas?

I think we win out. Really.

If we can win our bowl game and land at 8 wins, that's one of the best seasons that we've ever seen. I think we underestimate here how big a deal 8 wins is (right now) at Iowa State. It hasn't been done a whole lot.

I want a bigger season, and it felt like we were right on the cusp of that, but we have to break through for 7-8 wins to break through to that next level. We have a very good chance at 8 right now.

Some info to back up your position from Steve Malchow's 2:00 timeout:
Coach Paul Rhoads latched onto a positive thought Saturday night.
“We’ve got five quality losses if that makes sense,” he said. “And, I think it does (make sense) to our kids.”
One hundred percent of ISU’s defeats in 2012 have come vs. teams currently ranked in the Top 25 of the coach’s poll.
