Iowa State favored by 8 over Kansas

6.5 is about right. As I pointed out earlier today, Sagarin would project ISU -7. We're 10 points better in the predictor, and the home field is about 3 points.

I'm thinking now that texas was just a bad matchup for our offense, they've pressured teams all years and for whatever reasons, we imploded. KU can't bring that same type of pressure, so I think we see the Jantz that we saw against OU and not the Jantz we saw against Texas.

The defense does concern me with Knott out against a heavy run team.

Except for 8 days ago when they got blown out by a team ISU beat handily.

Am I living in bizarro world where I'm the only person who saw the KU-Baylor box score? They gained about 40 less yards than ISU did and gave up 240 more. ISU +14, KU -27 against the same team just 8 and 15 days ago. That's why we're favored, that and KU is winless except vs. Dakota schools this season.

People need to step away from the ledge. We lost to Tech who is now #25, K-State who is now #2, Oklahoma State who is #24, Oklahoma who is now #12, and Texas who is now #15. All current top 25 teams. Yes it would be better if we picked off one or a few of those games but they aren't slouch teams. If we lose to KU Saturday (improvement or not) then we may have problems. I honestly think we have a great shot of finishing 7-5.

Unreal, our guys play OU tough. Lose at Texas playing a bad game, and all the other losses are to top 25 teams. And on this board we got a bunch of people thinking we can't beat the worst team in the confernece. Newsflash....sometimes the teams with better players win the games. Could KU win, yeah they got a punchers chance, just like we did agaisnt OU and Texas. But they probably won't. ISU has a better team, sometimes the better team wins.

I'm not an odds maker, and I'm not an expert, but I can see both sides of this. This season we've played some damn fine teams close, even when we've lost. But, so has Kansas, and the last few years, we have had some close games with them too. As Cyclonz is implying, could go a lot of ways.

This is ridiculous. I thought CPR had helped get us past the point that we simply hope we can beat terrible teams that we should beat? All the sudden two losses to the two most physically talented teams in the conference and we're absolute garbage? This is Kansas. Can they win? Sure. We've proven ourselves that any given team can win on any given day. Would I be shocked if Kansas beat us? Absolutely. Back off the ledge, guys. Outside of a select few of you and the team and coaching staff, no one expected us to beat OU or Texas. It doesn't mean we're bad. They're just more talented than us. Just like we're more talented than Kansas.

Yes, let's acknowledge that we are getting some respect from Vegas. Most of these posts sound a lot like the crying we hear when we don't think we should be the underdogs. I really like the fact that Vegas thinks this well about us on the road. Maybe they are trying to stimulate some KU betting, but they aren't in the business of losing money. I like being a big favorite on the road near the end of the Big 12 season. Take a deep breath and enjoy it!
