K-State has had only two close games all season: us and Oklahoma. This is another reason to for us to feel good about our team this season. Finally, a reason to cheer for K-State. It is really cool to think that we played close against the possible national champion.
My preference would be for a K-State/Notre Dame national championship game. And I would love to see Oregon beat Alabama. Most SEC fans and many of the talking heads won't consider anyone the true national champion unless they beat Alabama in the championship game. I hate the fact that TAM was the team to take them out.
I dont see why we "should feel good" for playing ksu close. We havent played so well in other games. But I do agree that if ksu can do it we should be able.
Not so fast, my friend. There is still time for 2 of the three undefeateds to slip up. And you know if they do that without a doubt they will insert a one loss SEC team right back in the NC game. And if all three should happen to slip up they will probably go with two of the one loss SEC teams that are left (if they still only have one loss; since between the three of them they only face one more ranked team it seems likely).
"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr
K-State has to still get by a surging Texas team... That game is going to be tough. They'll have to earn their spot in the NC game.
"If baseball players speaking in front of Congress can be put on trial for perjury, then why shouldn't the politicians we vote for be held accountable to the same standard during their campaigns?" -Paraphrased from The Newsroom

I think this is a game they win easily. Texas is still not a good team at stopping the run and K-State runs with the ball so well. Plus it's going to be a home game and K-State has owned Texas in the last 10 years.
