Re: West Virginia Atmosphere
I hope it's a great atmosphere. And I hope that it's for win 7. DO NOT want this for eligibility as that can become a head game thing...and WVU has lost like 5 straight? For a preseason top 10 type team, hard to think them loosing out.
I would LOVE a win this weekend in a somewhat convincing manner, confidence and beat WVU, and in full stride, injury free for a bowl.

I hope the turnout is solid. I for one will be there as well as my Hawk-fan-brother and sister-in-law, who slowly but surely are moving over to the good guys. I'm sure the student turnout will hurt, but JP will find a way to get butts in seats.

Re: West Virginia Atmosphere
Probably smallest crowd of year, but still over 50,000. I'm sure there will be enough people to fill in the student section.

I agree. There will be some students who don't come back. However, plenty of others will move from hillsides into the Student Section to make it seem full. I expect a 50k+ crowd that will be quite energetic.
If West Virginia had lived up to their hype, this game would have had much the same energy as the OK State game last year.
Assuming we beat Kansas, I hope that we take seriously the difference between a 6-6 bowl and a 7-5 bowl, as well as getting over the hump of 3 conference wins. Going to a better bowl and winning 4 conference games will be very beneficial for the program.

Are the students kicked out of the dorms during Thanksgiving break?

And I wouldn't be shocked to see another "If you have a collegiate student ID you can sit in the student section for the game" deal for the WVU game.

Re: West Virginia Atmosphere
Student turnout is going to be bad. But that should have been expected when the decision to play on Friday was made.

Student turnout may be down some, but it won't be bad. Nearly every student lives within 3 hours. It isn't like TCU with so many students from all over the country. We need to show them what student turnout during a break should be like.

Re: West Virginia Atmosphere
I'll be there, as always. Here's what I've gauged from talking to other friends:
Ones who live in Central IA: Definitely
Ones who live anywhere else in IA: Maybe, leaning more on the side of coming down
Ones who live in Minnesota (or out of state in general): No, minus a few die hards

Re: West Virginia Atmosphere
Here's the deal:
Beat KU then actual butts in seats for WVU will be around 52k.
Lost to KU then actual butts in seats for WVU will be around 48k.
This assumes avg weather for that day as well.
