2013 FB schedule
Has there been any update on when the Big12 will release the 2013-14 FB schedule? TIA

Re: 2013 FB schedule
I'm guessing this year's but flipped home and away.
"He is the toughest I have ever been around, physically and mentally," Burnham said. "You can beat him down but you’re not going to beat him out. He’s got the mindset of, ‘If you’re going to get me out of this game, you’re going to have to kill me.’ That’s about where he is."

“I told you, I don’t care if you’re black or white. I don’t care if you’re rich or poor. I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads -

If I could design the Big 12 schedule (assuming 10-team setup remained intact) I would anchor each school's opening game and finale, with a loose rivalry on each end, then rotate the others back-to-front or front-to-back.
Iowa State's would be:
Opener: KSU
Finale: West Virginia
The rotation guarantees OU and Texas can't avoid late-season Ames trips entirely.

Re: 2013 FB schedule
I hope it isn't just flipped. I hate to go 9 games with no bye week.

Re: 2013 FB schedule
If it was just flipped, it would already be out. I remember hearing something awhile back from Jamie that mentioned the schedule will be reviewed after the year and changes will be made.

8/31 UNI
9/14 Iowa
9/21 at Tulsa

Re: 2013 FB schedule
It will change. TCU's schedule was a little messed up due to conference change. They played KU pretty early this year.

Re: 2013 FB schedule
I got 5 bucks that says Texas will be the conference opener.

Re: 2013 FB schedule
I doubt it will be flipped. There is no way that the big 12 give Tech and ourselves no conference bye week 2 years in a row.

Re: 2013 FB schedule
The Big 12 has no title game (obvious I know), so they will probably take a look at the current state of the teams, project who the hot teams will be next year. Try to schedule as to put good teams against each other late (OSU vs OU last year, and KSU vs Texas this year). For this reason, I think the schedule will be turned upside down. I agree no way in hell TExas comes up here after mid-October. Hell, the Big 12 probably thinks its a crime we do home/home with Texas every year.
I wonder if the Big 12 will start to do what the SEC does. Notice how most SEC teams get cupcakes later on in the season? Not a bad time to fluff the record and get a boost in BCS ratings.
Lastly, I'm not liking this 2 weeks off right after our first game. Therefore, I predict a Kansas or a TCU will slide up into our second game.
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

If a Big 12 game does get moved into the slot, it could look something like this (I'm using KSU -- seems like league prefers to keep a "probably meaningless" ISU-KU game toward the end of the season — TCU would not surprise me, as you said)
UNI
@Kansas State
Iowa
@Tulsa
Texas
@Texas Tech
TCU
@Baylor
Oklahoma State
@Oklahoma
Kansas
@West Virginia

Reason: @KSU, not home

K-State/Texas having big implications is a lucky coincidence for the conference, not part of the plan.

Re: 2013 FB schedule
I hate the idea of playing at Tulsa.

Re: 2013 FB schedule
It was my impression schedules were being redone to better evaluate/accommodate the new additions to the conference. It'll be interesting to see how the new commish implements his vision and direction.
