Re: Josey Jewell
If this kid is as good as you say, the fact that he goes to Decorah is what's setting him back. If this kid was in the DM area he would blow it up.

DM area includes Lincoln, Ankeny, Valley, Dowling, SE Polk...
All schools that have produced D1 talent in recent years.
If he played at Dowling and did well, he would recieve a LOT more attention and possibly more interest from colleges.

Decorah is tucked way up in the northeast part of the state and we don't hear anything about them. But Decorah pounded a Heelan team that beat 4A Sioux City East by 10, who I think was ranked in 4A a lot of the year. I'm a huge Ankeny fan, but I think Decorah could give them a game, and Jewell is the stud among a lot of good players for Decorah. I'd be elated if he becomes a Clone.

Jewel would be a great Preferred Walk-On candidate or a late scholarship guy if we have an extra spot at the end of the year.

You must be kidding; even I, in Michigan, have heard of the Decorah Eagles. I didn't know they had a quarterback though.

The problem with that statement (and the original one) is that since way back to the days of Lon Olejniczak, college coaches have been well aware of Decorah as at least an occasional talent producer. Being "tucked away" in Decorah doesn't hide anything.

Re: Josey Jewell
Decorah has churned out a few d1 players lately ....location is not an excuse. Around Decorah it sounds like Jewell gonna be a hok

Being "tucked away" in Decorah doesn't hide anything. I was responding to the post referring more to the fans in central Iowa. But David Johnson is a kid from eastern Iowa (Clinton) we didn't hear much about who slid by both Iowa and ISU and is now a stud at UNI. He put on a show against us last year as a freshman. It's now been posted that Jewell will likely be a Clone and likely be a hok. I guess we really have no idea right now.

Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

We're lucky Jesse Smith and Jeff Woody decided to walk on with us instead of taking money to go to a smaller school. David Johnson would be a stud at Iowa or ISU, if not as a rb, as a receiver or safety. And if Chiz doesn't get fired and the Ankeny coaches tell CPR about Jake Knott, he may have ended up playing baseball at Iowa. The coaches usually know what they're doing, but there are some really good Iowa kids that get underestimated, and I think Jewell may be one of them, we'll see.
