How many dropped passes by our receivers versus Kansas? IMO, it really is not a coincidence. It appears that Sam throws a very nice ball that is well placed and easier to catch because of velocity and the spiral of it. Contrast that with the balls that are bullets and are behind and balls that really do not give the proper arc for the receiver to make the adjustment to catch it. Having a super strong arm and delivering a ball that is difficult to catch is not all that great IMO. SR showed plenty of arm strength and delivered the balls with the exact amount of velocity needed to make the completion. His throw to Lenz that dropped over the top of the defender was absolutely beautiful.

There not only weren't drops, there wasn't a hint of it happening.

    It's all about the thrower.

I don't care how bad Kansas is, if SBR would've stayed in it could've been a bigger blow out. SBR looked perfect and good QBs do that against bad opponents right? They don't struggle and fumble the ball. They dominate them and make it look easy.

The true test will be vs. WVU assuming he starts. Adversity and pressure of starting and having a defense scheming for you will be the true test for Sam and I truly think he can handle it!

Not sure how far back the streak goes, but ISU has a really good record in the first start for a new QB. I think it goes back a ways.

Hell yes. Even Horne caught a TD pass.

I agree. A lot of people dismissing SR's performance by saying it was KU. The worst defensive teams we have played up to this point is probably Western Ill, Baylor, KU and Iowa. We did well against WIU and Baylor but we didn't light them up like we should have. What SR did against KU is what we should have expected out of Jantz against WIU, Baylor and Iowa.

SR's performance against KU was something I haven't seen out of Jantz or JB. He made it look easy. Jantz performance against Iowa last year was probably the single best game I ever saw out of an ISU QB but he had to make incredibly tough play after tough play. Some of it was his own doing too though. Sam made the easy play after easy play which Jantz seems to have trouble doing and through his own decision making ends up having to make an unbelievably harder play.

Don't forget... The WRs purposely drop the ball when Steele is in there. Also, the OL does not block on purpose when Steele plays. LOL

I always loved the arguement that Steele would be great if the OL would block and the WRs would catch the ball. SJ-JB-SR. The comparision is apples to apples to apples. Same OL, Same RBs, Same WRs. SJ<<<<<<<<<JB/SR

Still too early to get a good read on SR but I loike what I saw!!

Sorry if this has been posted but here is what I like when I look ahead to the WVU game and the concern of what WVU's D will throw at Sam:
