This is why Iowa State MBB will always thrive over FB. Going to games just to go to the game is one thing. I like tailgating and I attend 3-4 FB games/yr. I will always cheer for them, but FB will never compete or even come close to MBB for me. I want to cheer for a team who will compete every game and has a chance to win. Until recent, FB has never competed much with the "top teams" in the Big 12 or Big 8. Cyclone FB has always thrived on "mediocrity" and I think until we have a 10-win season, that's why fans will continue to expect. 7-5 is a "decent" season at best. Not "outstanding" and NOT "championship caliber". MBB won't ever "settle" on a "decent" season. Coach Rhodes has us going in the right direction, but Iowa State basketball will always prosper in winning over football. Did you hibernate during the McDermott years?

Hahahaha, I have racked my brain and I can not come up with a viable candidate to who you could be. It will come to me.

She was as good as it gets for an actress. Let me say, I regret getting into this. I have opinions that I should keep to myself, this was certainly one of those.

As far as production goes BB will always b better, its easir to build a program imo. football is growing and will bring in more money, but theres just a lot of extra moving parts

I have no idea about the economics of sports. I am sure they make plenty of money off a good basketball team. Paul Rhoades is doing a good job making football a money maker at ISU. You can't argue with success. It makes money.

You being more concerned about how I spelled coach Rhoads name, instead of responding to the thread shows your ignorance exactly. You are one the many clueless people who know nothing about sports or the Cyclones. Cyclones and fans like me are better off without you as a fan. Get a clue!

Football is the straw that stirs the drink. It's that way in high school, college and the pro's.

Jack Trice is awesome its annoying to see people rip it its constructed like an NFL stadium (when it was built) with 4 areas that allow the AD to oversell GA tickets.
It is a mix between my 2 favorite NFL football stadiums Ralph Wilson (Buffalo Bills) and the old Foxboro Stadium (NE Patriots.) Trust me the new Patriots one sucks the upper level is a spaceship and takes an extra 20 minutes to walk up to its awful even if it looks cool on TV.
Also football gameday atmosphere is better than everyone else. Why- because its not the same crusty *** people who have had seats for 20 years like you'd get in Lincoln or Ann Arbour.
ISU is a team of the people your average dude who cares however much can buy a ticket for the price of a movie and get a decent seat on the hills if he goes in early. Very few schools offer that.
Hilton is a good venue too because its basically an NBA arena minus luxury boxes. But Jack Trice is a perfect stadium and the tailgate set up is excellent the donors get spots where they can sink beers at halftime so its worth it to them to have a good parking spot and everyone else who isn't a donor gets a fun grass student lot. (There are some college programs where the alums/donors care more about their parking spot than their seat.) Letting fans out at halftime is awesome too nowhere does that.
Excellent facilities and an amazing AD means ISU athletics is definitely on the rise. To the point where I think the program could sustain departures of the 2 excellent coaches currently here (hope that doens't happen of course.)
Jack Trice and Hilton are absolutely superior to Kansas State's venues.
