NFL Players by College - I - National Football League - ESPN
I'm curious what other people make of this. Relative to other schools, some surprising ones in there, we're not very well represented. Is this due to a talent issue, player development, or what?
Some surprising schools to me that have more players in the NFL per this are Montana with 9, Central Michigan with 7, Cincinnati with 15, Colorado State with 7.
So, what's the scoop?

So Sims, Osemele, Johnson, and Hicks played under CPR. I believe the other two were both DMac guys.
None of them are CPR recruits...that is what my point is.
Well no, Sims actually was in Rhoads first class (Juco) and we know that both Knott and AJ will be there from his first recruiting class. Thats at least 3 players from his first recruiting class. Pretty good.
I really think its a combination of being able to evaluate talent and then you have to develop them. I think that DMac was a great guy and decent coach but I always thought he was poor at evaluating and projecting talent.
Well no crap? This is his fourth year. He's had three draft classes since he took over, so, if he recruited a freshman before his first year, they played as a freshman and left early as a junior when first eligible to declare, that would have just been this last draft? We're not going to start really seeing his recruits get draft eligible until this next draft (obviously JUCOs are the exception).Quote:

If a coach recruits the #1 player in the nation, gets fired, and the #1 one player doesn't get drafted after his senior year, who is more at fault, the guy that recruited him or the guy that took his place and couldn't develop him? In the same breath, the person that DOES develop them should get credit for their success.
Serious question: how many schools have two rookies starters right now?
I hate Iowa as much as the next guy, but KF recruits talent, usually gets the most out of that talent, and sees that talent play on Sundays...
I think it also shows that the schools we compete with, and some lower than us, can put more players in the NFL then we definitely can too. You just have to get those guys evaluated and coached up and try to end up with a larger share.
