No....Going bowling in the SEC and Big10 with 6 wins is stupid. We have 9 conference games.
If we had another game against New Mexico State we would have 7 wins. Not sure why more people don't realize this.
Re: So what's our bowl spot now?
JUST GLAD TO BE GOING BOWLING
Re: So what's our bowl spot now?
It might be a bad bowl. The thing is you still get the extra practice and the exposure on tv. The real key is the team can make it a huge exposure for ISU by the way they play in the game. Play as well as possible and you'll be on highlight reels all off season and possible recruits will see it.
Re: So what's our bowl spot now?
and since we came up a bit short against KSU and WVU - ended up with 6 wins, I think our best option would be the heart of dallas bowl.
"warmer" weather, Great for recruiting, easy for fans (close distance, Direct Flights)
PLUS the the Heart of Dallas game is a New Years Day bowl. We can use Hawkeye Logic here and since its on New Years it must be a prestigious bowl. Right?
and the houston bowl is a great time too. Friday night prime time game.
I still think West Virginia ends up in New York.
Baylor and ISU split the Houston/ Dallas Bowl
Those are the Big 10 #6 and #7 Games

Despite the Hawkeye Logic, that's gonna be a tough sell. Heart of Dallas is only bowl game on ESPNU. Every other game is on ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, CBS, or FOX
Re: So what's our bowl spot now?
I'd like to see ISU get a BCS matchup, and be the only game on which allows for full coverage.
Re: So what's our bowl spot now?
Thats another important thing is that hope its on a channel that is on basic cable so everyone can watch
Re: So what's our bowl spot now?
KSU 8-1 (Fiesta)
OU 8-1 (Sugar)
OSU 6-3 (Cotton)
UT 5-4 (Alamo)
Tech 4-5 (BWW)
TCU 4-5 (Holiday)
WV 4-5 (Meineke)
ISU 3-6 (Pinstripe)
Baylor 3-6 (Dallas)
KU 0-9

Switch UT and OSU (to set up UT-TAMU) and WVU and ISU (to prevent the same team in NYC twice, plus get a close geographical match) and you've got my prediction.
Skip the Big 12 records and go with overall
Kansas State: 11-1, Fiesta
Oklahoma: 10-2, Sugar
Texas: 8-4, Cotton
Oklahoma State: 8-4, Alamo
Texas Tech: 8-4 or 7-5, Buffalo Wild Wings
TCU: 7-5, Holiday
Iowa State: 6-6, Meineke Car Care
West Virginia: 7-5, Pinstripe
Baylor: 5-7 (if they get to 6-6, Heart of Dallas)
Kansas: 1-11
Cyclones take on Minnesota in the Meineke Car Care Bowl in December... get your tickets for Houston early. I could also see OSU and TTU switching here as well maybe.

No offense, but bowls don't always pick based on W-L records. ISU passed a Mizzou team with 7 wins a couple years ago and Kansas St. got passed by Michigan last year in the BCS.
A California bowl picking West Virginia over Iowa St. doesn't make a lot of sense. But I don't know what they are looking for so whatever.
Re: So what's our bowl spot now?
I'm fearful that hardly any ISU fans would travel to the Pinstripe Bowl again this year. That would be MUCH worse than either Texas bowl IMO.
Re: So what's our bowl spot now?
I'm guessing the Pinstripe doesn't want us either. We didn't buy very many tickets last year.

I agree completely with this prediction, however, I don't want to play Minnesota again. Michigan State would be the best, then Purdue, and then Minny.

You realize who said those things, right?

I don't think there is much doubt that the ISU turnout for the Pinstripe Bowl would be miniscule. Since San Diego & Phoenix are out of the picture now I think Dallas would be the best turnout with Houston being second.
