Maybe I'm missing something, please explain, but I loved breaks in Ames. Less crowds, no class, usually got some extra hours at work and upped the bank account. Admittedly, my parents didn't pay for my school, so stupid family obligations were easily blown off with...sorry, gotta work, $'s getting low, mom. not everyone's family hates them

I guess we just have different viewpoints (and that's okay....I know, the internets, we should fight or something). To me, it was kind of a rite of passage to not 'go home' for break. After I moved out of the dorms, Ames was my home.

Re: We will not take the next step until...
Wait a sec... there were tix available if people wanted them today. Are you all suggesting the ATH dept not get paid for the thanksgiving game by not keeping it in the student pack? If they didnt include it we'd have 7,000 less "tickets sold" today. What purpose is there to not at least collect the $10 per ticket right off the bat?

Re: We will not take the next step until...
We only scored 24 against the 123rd ranked scoring defense, and we are more concerned about who didn't show up to watch the game in person. Fascinating.

Re: We will not take the next step until...
The vast majority of students that go to games already have season passes, makes no sense for us to do a promotion for people who already have season tickets.

Recruits will see Sunshine as our qb going forward and join. We'll be fine. I don't think you cheered loud enough

We're not saying fans were the problem today other than it would have been nice to see some more butts in seats. People can discuss that ya know. What was the turnout at kinnick today?

What was the turnout at kinnick today? Same. Hole in the top of the student section, and most other games you'll see tomorrow.

Irrelevant? Pretty sure the turnout at Kinnick was irrelevant. At least WRT this discussion.

Also played two top 10 teams at home.
Would love to have the Tech game back.

I go to school at Iowa (die hard cyclone fan though!) anyways, I didn't return to Iowa City today mainly for the same reason tons of students were at the Iowa State game today, your at home with your family and if I wanted to go back for a game I would of had to leave last night on a holiday. Not really something I would of done. I did go to the Iowa state game today though. Iowa's student section was pretttttty empty but it looked more full then it was because Iowa opened those seats up to the public. Heck even Texas's student section looked kinda sparse last night.

Re: We will not take the next step until...
The 6 losses are all quality losses. 2 of the 4 home games Jantz and Barnett were as bad as I have seen a QB play (tech and Ksu) and OU and WVA the team played well but didn't execute when it mattered Woody fumbled the game away and against OU all the receivers were awful. It happens. The team almost beat K State with the worst QB play I have ever seen in my life ditto Texas Tech the home efforts were overall very respectable.
This thread is offbased IMO the most important thing is to NOT **** AROUND against Iowa or UNI early next year. Remember Pollard has this team going into an absolute nightmare game @ Tulsa. I think he should pay them to cancel it. KSU and Oregon didn't feel like playing each other and cancelled to schedule garbage teams I would do the same see if Idaho or Umass are available.
