So where does this team rank all time?

I thought we had an excellent team overall, but just could not finish teams out at times. Very competitive against the toughest schedule in the nation. Thoughts???

I say even if we have to rank - anything with a .333 conference winning percentage gets a n/a ranking.

Talent-wise, I thought this year's team was right up there with any we've had in recent years. I'll take 6-6 and a bowl, but I'm really not all that excited about it. I really thought we were a 7-8 win team with as many senior starters as we had. A bowl's a bowl, but I really thought this was the year we'd get to a good one. Just can't help but replay Woody's fumble over and over in my head. Was having visions of a 7-5 season, with a respectable bowl to cap it off. But again, I'll take any bowl. Especially in a year where the Hawks don't get any.

Sorry to get off track a bit. Just upset at what could've been this season.

This is the Paul Rhoads transitional team, the one that comes right to the edge of breaking through, but doesn't quite do it.

It showed us that we have players coming through the pipeline that are learning the system and have the ability to play Big 12 football. Now they have to take the next step and learn how to put a couple more wins together.

We also learned that we have a QB now. We have a chance to really build some nice momentum and continuity going into our bowl game.

Theoretically, this was the last 6 win regular season, and we start to break through into 7, 8, or 9 win regular seasons. Next year should also land CPR's overall ISU record at one that's over .500, and that just isn't done here,

So, this team showed us some of what we can be, showed us that we're not there yet, but that we're getting very close to what we all want to see.

It's crazy to think that a top-10 all time Cyclone team will probably finish 8/9th in a 10 team conference.

Pretty good summation. We are a whisker from at least a couple more wins. We are getting closer.

I think this team is certainly the best of the Rhoads era. I think they would beat the 2004 and 2005 teams. I'm not sure how they would do against the 2000 team. Any point ahead of that I'm completely lost because I'm 19 and didn't get to see the great Earle Bruce teams of the late 70s.

Top 10 for sure. Our program has just never been good. Hopefully Rhoads can change that. I think he will.

The 200 9-3 team is the benchmark for any team I think. They beat a good Pitt team in the Insight Bowl and won 5 conference games. This team was one of the better teams that I can remember but we fell just short against KSU and WVU and those 2 games has we come out with a W this may have been the best ISU team we've had. Good teams compete but great teams find ways to win games they shouldn't.
