And don't forget the role the Big East has in this mess. Rutgers losing to Pitt and Louisville losing to UConn are what has allowed Kent State or Northern Illinois to be in this position in the first place. The whole thing isnt ridiculous, just some of the side rules for at large selection that go along with it. The formula isnt awful (aside from probably too much human interference, but most of the time when you hear the media complaining about it, theyre complaining about the best part of it, the computers!). Granting a team a bid just because it gets top 16 because one of the auto-bid conferences happen to suck? That makes no sense. Why should the big 12 (or other) conference suffer because the big east sucks? Hell, why is the extra bid for notre dame not just part of the 'best non-bcs team gets a bid'.

Re: ***Official What Bowl Are We Going To Thread***
they should make a rule so either Rutgers or Kent St. get in. Not both. Kent St. beat Rutgers earlier in the year. Should give Rutgers spot to Oklahoma and Kent St. in the BCS.hopefully they make changes to the flawed system.

I don't mean any disrespect to anyone, but I really don't want to play in a cold baseball park again. -

Since Kent State made the BCS instead of Oklahoma, ISU is bumped out of the Big 12 bowls but gets to play in the Music City Bowl.
Meanwhile, Vanderbilt's coach James Franklin leaves to take a better job somewhere else. Vanderbilt moves quickly and hires Gene Chizik as his replacement. They get a bid to the Music City Bowl as well.
Cyclones demolish Chizik 78-0. The score is 42-0 at halftime, and Chizik says he is firmly entrenched in Nashville during the sideline interview as the teams are going to the locker room.
It is 70-0 near the end of the game but a 95 yard pass from Richardson to Lenz as time expires makes it 76-0, and Bueker says "F*** it" and runs in the end zone with the snap on the PAT instead of holding it for a kick.
Chizik slips and falls walking to midfield after the game to shake Rhoads' hand
And Vanderbilt fires him after the game as well I prefer Gene Chizik to be working behind the counter of a McDonalds, to each his own I guess.
Do you know why I put up with this 'pitiful job', Mr. Donaghy, why I fetch these folks' lunches and clean up their barfs? Cause they make television. And more then jazz, or musical theater, or morbid obesity, television is the true American artform. -

I want the Heart of Dallas Bowl. With a New Year's Day Bowl, Hawkeye fans won't have a leg to stand on. -

Count me as one that thinks GT will get an exception like UCLA did. I'll be surprised if Music City will really be in play. Thinking we better hope for Dallas or it might be pretty ugly.

I'm actually excited for a possible Dallas trip. Mavericks game on the 30th, Jerry World tour, getting a chance to see the Cotton Bowl are just a few things to look forward to.

Thinking we better hope for Dallas or it might be pretty ugly. On the bright side there will be at least one SEC bowl berth available that is above the Independence. SEC will fill seven of their non-BCS bowls, and they have nine total. The Independence is at the bottom of the list. The Compass Bowl is right above that, but there are rumblings that Ole Miss will go there. That would leave the Liberty Bowl open, but if Tulsa wins the C-USA and goes there, it would be unlikely that we would as well.

If Stanford beats UCLA then NIU has to beat Kent St or Kent st will be in top 16. If thats the case then its likely KSU vs Oregon, Fla vs BE champ, FSU vs Kent st. can you say ugly

That reporters logic makes no sense. I think they are setting themselves to play victim. And they should, it is bs to get punished for playing in championship.
