Unless I am way off base, an AQ conference team must be in the Top 14 of the BCS to be eligible as an at-large selection... Is this still true? Yeah, I got myself all turned around on what I was thinking and trying to say. But, you're right, that's what I meant.
Though I'm thinking Texas might have trouble passing Oregon State, and thus not getting into the top 14, so I think it is going to come down to a K-State/Clemson pick.

I agree that Texas may have a hard time getting moving up that last spot. Im just wondering why the Sugar would want Clemson over KSU in that case?

At 6-6, and #9/10, ANY bowl game is great (with apologies to reluctant travellers.) The extra 3 - 4 weeks of practice for our young QB's and line is great. I know it is a cliche, but unless we somehow get shut out, I will be very pleased. I would prefer Dallas, but any bowl will make me happy.
PS - TX looks like it might beat Lavender Power. What would that do to us? Apologies if I have missed the answer elsewhere.

Re: ***Official What Bowl Are We Going To Thread***
With the way that everything is about $$$$, a Texas team that is eligible should get picked by the BCS pretty much every time.
Remember the obvious money grab in last year's Sugar Bowl with picking Michigan?
This year that team will be Texas if they are able to crack the Top 14.

BC (terrible)

Va Tech (bowl eligible but still not good)
Wake Forest (bad)
Duke (ok, but not that good)

NC St (ok, best win but is only 7-5)
losses
Florida St. (good team)
S Carolina (good)
basically they beat up on the bad teams but can't beat anyone with a pulse. If they get into a BCS game they'll get blown out like last year (WVA hung 70 on them )

That loss to WVU last year won't do them any favors in the Bowls eyes

Another thing to consider if it comes down to KSU vs Clemson would the Sugar like to promote Klein as a Heisman finalist (maybe)?

Are we talking if KSU loses or if they win. If I'm not mistaken, if KSU wins, they go to the BCS no matter what, as they will have the tie breaker over OU and will get the Big 12's automatic bid. Then it would come down to the Sugar choosing between OU and Clemson. I think they take OU (considering their only 2 loses were to #1 Notre Dame, and the Big 12 Champ K-State).
If KSU loses tonight, they will have lost the last 2 games. I think they get left out of BCS in that case.

if KSU loses and Texas can't get to 14 in BCS

Re: ***Official What Bowl Are We Going To Thread***
Ok. Then my question is, are the BCS bowls required to take teams in the top 14 as at large teams (not counting the non-AQ rules)? I believe they are, but not certain.
Either way, I think KSU gets left out if they lose tonight. Two straight losses will leave a bad taste in people's mouths.
