I would imagine their only other option is the Potato Bowl in Boise... Not sure why they'd turn down a cross-town rivalry game to play in that one.

Wonder if any voters will vote Boise or NIU lower to keep them out. I mean, let's be honest, neither of those teams belong in a BCS bowl this year. Boise lost to a mediocre Michigan State team, and NIU lost to Iowa (need I say more about them).

La Tech - La Monroe is a really good matchup for that specific bowl, they may have wanted to lock it down rather than gamble on a Big 12 team being available.
