I don't blame NIU, but I do blame the voters. The NIU schedule and the OU schedule aren't even comparable. OUs two losses were to ND and KSU with a combined 1 loss between them. There is no way if I had a vote that I would make one that would put NIU in a BCS bowl over OU. No way.

On top of that, NIUs coach just took a job at NC State. Is Doeren even going to coach them in their bowl game? It could be the worst BCS game ever. Lord knows NIU wont bring that many fans. They have a tiny 30K seat stadium that I am not sure they fill regularly.

Seriously?? Louisville is going to get destroyed in their BCS game. The MAC is alot better conference than the Big East but who gets the auto bid its bs

Why is the cutoff 16 for this non-AQ conference qualification system? It is 14 for at-large selection. Seems that would at least be a more logical place to grant an automatic bid.

Best case scenario at this point would be the BBVA Compass Bowl vs. Ole Miss

Pittsburgh has been to the game two years in a row, if they pass and play UCF in St. Pete, spot could be open.

Apparently because the voters won't vote a non AQ very high they had to lower it a bit.

My issue is you just do not put a team like NIU (with no clear quality wins and a bad loss) in over a team like OU. You do whatever must be done to keep them out. You do not need a foil hat to think this would not be happening if OU was in the Big 10 or SEC. The average conference champions getting a spot is irrelevant imo. If they were good, OU would still be left out and NIU in, and those average teams are likely still better than NIU.

Going to the liberty Bowl versus going to the Hod is not that big of deal...but the Big 12 mi$$ing out on two BCS games AGAIN, this time to an average NIU team is what is infuriating.

I'm confused why everyone is acting like they know NIU is automatically in because they're #16 in the coaches poll. If they're also #16 in the Harris poll (which isn't out yet right?) wouldn't they likely be out because they're probably somewhere around 19 or 20 in the computer average?

BCS had to throw non-AQ conferences a bone to avoid getting their ***** handed to them in court.

The MAC has secondary deals with both BBVA and B'O'B, so whichever one doesn't get Pittsburgh will get a MAC team.

Yeah, the only way this could have been a positive for the conference is if it were UT left out. Maybe that would have knocked some reality into Dodd's head that UT needs more than itself.

I'm more interested in hearing how NIU jumped 6 spots to become BCS-eligible. Had Kent St won and jumped from 17 to 16, understandable. But NIU jumping from 21 to 16? At this point NIU feels like a token "avoid a Supreme Court Lawsuit" BCS invite.

Maybe voter people do not like Bobby Stoops. Maybe he has bad breath.
