My dream is that Chizz lives out his days working as the cart-retriever at the Auburn, Alabama, wal-mart. However, punks like him always seems to end up smelling like a rose. Unfortunately, he'll probably land a coordinator job somewhere and work his way back into a HC position.

The amazing thing is...how much money did he make during this whole process?
Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum.... -

Re: Chizik turns Auburn into ISU of old in just 4 yrs
Does anyone else get the feeling that he is just smarmy every time he talks? Something just isn't right about him. Every quote from him is the same thing... "I'm just focused on those kids in that locker room"... "I'm just focused on those kids in that locker room"... "I'm just focused on those kids in that locker room".... Great, how about you say something like, "our kids are out of position and we are missing too many tackles and that is obviously something we need to work on if we are going to win football games" it all seems so canned and robotic and has little to do with X's and O's and more to do with caressing his struggling players. His wife's oddball Facebook posts just pile on to the oddity of the situation. He just seems like a weird dude with an even weirder wife. When I see someone like that who has the appearance of being too squeaky clean, I immediately call bullish!t. It's like listening to a politician say how much they care about their constituents. When Ferentz went off on that reporter a week or so ago it was probably the most I've ever liked him. It humanized him a bit.
Very glad we have a coach that talks about football, but also knows how to apply that caring passion in a way that ignites the fan base and motivates his team and doesn't come across as sappy. I think he knows who he is and the type of player that will produce for him. I know plenty of people who were incredible athletes that coasted. I also know people who were good athletes that excelled beyond the better athletes because they knew how to bring themselves to that next level at game time. I think that is who we try and recruit and why we are ok with 2 star athletes. If you look at the two star success stories at ISU, most are those players that don't have the physical tools of some of the elite recruits, but elevate their play at game time and work their tails off in practice.
Those that are questioning CPR didn't live through Criner and Walden. You didn't live through the drought vs Iowa. We used to show up to the games just in case we won. Now, we are depressed when we lose to anyone. Some of us have a little more perspective just because we've suffered for a long time. Give CPR time and be thankful for what we have. I personally think we have one of the best coaches in the country and I wouldn't trade him for anyone.

Karma Gene, Karma Gene. You're getting evertying you deserve! Really would enjoy having a beer with JP and getting his thoughts on the situation! In a way Gene Chizik was a blessing for ISU. He showed us how rotten a person can be and because of that we now know how great a man and coach Paul Rhoads is!

Re: Chizik turns Auburn into ISU of old in just 4 yrs
Chizik has no reason to give thoughtful responses. He was informed long ago that he'd be "evaluated" for performance. Just coasting it out.

Are they?
(notes Lickliter is still one of the top 10 paid state employees in Iowa)

Re: Chizik turns Auburn into ISU of old in just 4 yrs
I know Chizik sucks and it definately isn't cool to get fired but I still think he is still getting the last laugh. Per his buy-out he will get paid $208,000 PER MONTH for the next 36 months. He doesn't have to work another day in his life if he is even remotely smart with his money, and I would guess he can easily get SOME job after those 3 years. He was a pretty established defensive coordinator before desiding to totally suck as a head coach (minus 1 NC year w/ Cam Newton).
Yep, this thread has just been pwned.
