Is it just me or does Irving look like he lacks some hustle and intensity at times?

I've noticed that his first step off the ball is extremely slow. Hopefully he works on his explosiveness this offseason.

Yes, I've noticed that too. Irving's first couple steps are VERY slow. His feet just aren't very quick.

As to the Coe commitment.... does this help us keep Wimberly committed as well? I sure hope so!

Imo, better chance Irving redshirts than leading the DL next year. Neither is likely.

What are the chances Coe never sets foot on campus due to academics? I'm guessing he still has work to do there to make it.

Good luck and hope to see you in cardinal and gold Rodney.

This is great news. A gifted athlete with loads of raw talent. When he lives up to his potential, he'll be an absolute beast and a dominant Cyclone.

Yeah, neither one of those is happening.

I concur, he never seems to look explosive coming off the line. I think he set some sort of record for the standing broad jump last year, so maybe we can just have him do that?

Excited for Coe too, anyone have ideas on what he'll actually play for us? Will he stay outside as a DE, or move inside to DT? Seems like he'll add some flexibility to the DL with his size and perceived quickness.

That is why it is a hope, not a prediction.

Is Rodney the first kid we have ever recruited who was in the national top 250 out of HS?

As far as Wimberly goes, I hope we can hold on as Penn State is coming at him aggressively.

Looks like a lot of talent there. Hope he makes grades. Nice sized DE.

I think part of it is deceiving because Irving's strides are so long. It always makes those longer guys look slower than they actually are....but would love to see him put on some girth. Dude has the physical potential to be a Julius Peppers type of body.

Yep, big guys look slow even if they aren't.
