BCS v. Playoffs
This morning I read something interesting in the DM Register (sorry, can't find a link to it).
It seems like the BCS game is set up fine this year to determine the national champion. No need for a playoff this year as no one is making much of a case for anyone other than Notre Dame and the SEC winner.
However, if we had the 4 team playoff, who would be the four teams? Could Florida make it without even being in their conference championship game? Seems like the playoff system would be really controversial if it were in use this year.

Re: BCS v. Playoffs
I personally would like to see someone against the SEC though. Oregon, KSU. Last year, Ok, this year though, I don't give the SEC the pass that I have before of being a conference head and shoulders above the rest. Just because you are in the SEC, shouldn't give you an a****id.
That being said, a playoff will make it more likely that I watch the game. It's kind of funny coming from me, because honestly, I couldn't care less about who the National Champion is, so i was fine with the Bowl system. It allows me to watch another ISU game the past couple of years and that beats finding a "true" National Champion any day, in my book. But, as I said, a play-off might get me to watch, as opposed to just two teams playing that I don't care about.

I like those 4, but I imagine SEC fans would argue strongly for Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.

Alabama's loss at home is by default worse than Florida's to Georgia in Athens 19-7. And that being said KSU's loss to Baylor doesn't look so great. And if you are going to include Oregon - they didn't make a title game in the PAC 12 either. The BCS doesn't have anything figured out. And a 4 team playoff only muddies the water further. But keep cashing the checks everybody and propping up the Brent Musbergers of the world in an attempt to tell us how it's prefect. Will it be perfect if Alabama beats Notre Dame 48-17?
