The air charter sounds good.
- easy in/out of aircraft
- less time cramped in a public transportation seat (compared to a bus)
- price sounds like it could be reasonable
I am planning to carpool with 3-4 friends to Dallas/Memphis/wherever, but if the cost included hotel, air and game ticket in the $1000 range, I think my group might take the charter instead.

A train would be a total timesink, but its $like 400 roundtrip to dallas from Osceola...just saying.
For those interested. (Not Me)

Re: CF BOWL CHARTER: Please give input
I would be very interested, we have at least 8 in the family, and know of some other friends that would go.

May have already been posted but how many days are we talking? I would like to spend some time in Dallas
Re: CF BOWL CHARTER: Please give input
I love bus trips, it's bizarre. Atmosphere thing I suppose.
That said, I have a wedding in April to pay for, so whether or not I would be able to go would entirely depend on the bottom line price. So my preference automatically goes to whichever is more cost efficient.
Re: CF BOWL CHARTER: Please give input
I'm very interested if the price is right - I think a bus would be more fun for some odd reason.
Re: CF BOWL CHARTER: Please give input
I like the idea. I would be on board for both the bus and plane idea if I could get a cheaper price (from going myself). i think this would get lots of people to go that wouldn't if this wasn't available. As well I would want a couple of days in Dallas.
Re: CF BOWL CHARTER: Please give input
I concur with the price point poll. Since we only have 1 day off for new years (but hooray paycheck) whichever is quickest would be good. If we can keep the entire trip package (minus food and misc) under 700/person we'd be in.

Personally, I'd pay more to fly if it saved me a day or 2 of vacation time at work.
I think it would be nice to have the cheap bus trip + 1 night in a hotel option OR a chartered flight option with a couple days in the hotel (but not at a $1,500 price tag like the Alumni Association).
The flight itself yes, that doesn't include security, waiting for the flight, and getting bags after the flight.
Re: CF BOWL CHARTER: Please give input
GF and I plan on going down if it's Dallas. 12 hr drive isn't outrageous. I flew when we were bowling in Tempe and I'm sure most flew to NYC. Spending a few days before is important to us which is what kept us from the charter to KU. I like being able to have time to do our own thing before and after the game.
If it is in fact Dallas like most expect - I cannot underestimate the importance of Cyclones traveling well down there. Does wonders for our TX recruiting knowing how well we show up in TX and bowl games.

Nothing is set in stone but here are my initial thoughts based on the research I've done. With this information, what does everyone think, flight or bus?
If we took a bus down, it would be for 3 nights in a hotel. Why? Game is on the 1st, which means people would want to be down there for New Years and any pep rallies. Don't want to drive all day on the 31st. Plus if you are driving 24 hours (12 each way), I think it's worth it to be there a full 2 days (3 nights).
Charter flight would be smooth. Direct flight, free baggage, minimal security, and a flight full of Cyclone fans. Be in Dallas in 2 hours. B/c of that, only stay in Dallas 2 nights. Whatever we do, it's going to be great. We had a great turnout and time on the way down to Lawrence and I have no doubts that this bowl trip will be even more fun.
I really don't see the point of staying three days if you don't have to. If someone wants to take a vacation go ahead and do it on your own but I personally would be much more interested in flying down and back the day of the game.
Re: CF BOWL CHARTER: Please give input
Depends more on what day our game ends up being, but I'd be cool with a bus or plane as long as the price isn't extravagant.

If we take a bus, this guy doesn't sound like fun ^^^^^^
