CF BOWL CHARTER: Please give input
So let's just say that Iowa State goes to Dallas and Cyclone Fanatic puts together a charter...
Would you rather fly or take a bus?
Obviously the bus would be cheaper but it isn't as convenient. Thoughts?

Obviously the bus would be cheaper but it isn't as convenient. Thoughts? I think if you can get a charter flight/package deal it would lower the cost compared to a normal flight and hotel. My wife and I would most likely sign up for a flight but not a bus.

I would also be interested just to be curious. Had a great time at KU.

Re: CF BOWL CHARTER: Please give input
any ballpark figures on the price difference between flight and bus?

Re: CF BOWL CHARTER: Please give input
I would love to go down on a bus why not.i guess it would be a matter of price and how long we would stay down there

I'll be going with the band but I will still give some feedback. A 12 hour bus trip really isn't that bad and when you think about it would only be about 5-6 hours more than a plane because you don't have to go through security and waiting and that whole package.

Long drives are much better when you aren't the one driving - especially if it's on one of those cool buses with Wi-Fi, plug-ins, and televisions. I would consider doing this if it was on a bus, but a flight would likely knock it out of my price range.

Messing with the departure and return dates a little bit, cheapest I saw was $342 if you are willing to fly back to Des Moines the night of the game (kickoff would be at 11:00am).
Take that for what it's worth

I say differentiate from the Alumni Association, go w/ a bus! IRRC, the ISUAA bowl packages run right @ $1500 - they're well done, and worth the money, but out of some ppl's price range (mine this year, for example.) I'd be very interested in a no frills, down and back bus trip. No hotel, leave the night before, etc.

I would much rather spend at least the night before in Dallas, especially since it would be New Year's.

In would be interested in a bus trip, but not the flight due to the additional costs.

DSM to Dallas is less than a 2 hour flight. So basically within 3 hours you'll be in DFW.
Personally, I'd pay more to fly if it saved me a day or 2 of vacation time at work.
I think it would be nice to have the cheap bus trip + 1 night in a hotel option OR a chartered flight option with a couple days in the hotel (but not at a $1,500 price tag like the Alumni Association).

Re: CF BOWL CHARTER: Please give input
I'd like to at least see some estimated cost of a flight package first. If its in the area of $1500 like dunar said, then that is outside my price range.
