Meeks goes from QB to LB prospect | Ames Tribune
He verballed to ISU head coach Paul Rhoads and offensive coordinator Courtney Messingham during a home visit on Tuesday.
So the quarterback chose to play linebacker. He’s happy with the decision.
Now, Meeks is preparing to enroll in January to get a head start on the rest of the 2013 freshman class. He knows he needs it with his limited experience at the position.
“Linebacker is all instinct,” Meeks said. “It’s toughness and work ethic. I picked that up as a high school wrestler. Iowa State thinks I can be a good linebacker and now I have to get in there and get some reps.”
Super pumped about this kid. Seems like he's got just the attitude for ISU. Does this mean that Jake and AJ can teach him a few things before they leave?
Yeah holy crap I am excited for this guy.
hopefully he has shaken off the injury bug for good.
Love the fact that he is coming in to enroll early. Great opportunity for him to learn to be a linebacker with an extra spring.
I'm sure Jake will be working out in prep for the combine unless he goes to a specialty place somewhere to prepare....which is probably what he should do to up his numbers as much as possible. So hopefully a little mentoring possible from The Eraser.
