Re: Update on QB Commit Hodge
Perfect situation for a QB recruit. Redshirt freshman year...take the starting role over as a junior...more than likely receive spot playing time redshirt freshman year due to starting QB being banged up.
With that said...their will be competition this fall if he is a stud.
Re: Update on QB Commit Hodge
QB spot is shaping up to have some serious competition for the first time in a long, long time. Curious where Lanning fits in.

Yeah I highly doubt he beats out Richardson or Rohach at any point in his career. And he will without a doubt not compete for a spot next year and will immediately redshirt. No question.

Odd first post . . . and at 4:54am.
I'm guessing "recruiter from another school who wants someone to commit to his school" or "parent who wants his kid to go somewhere else."

It is likely that Hodge will RS next year (as will most in-coming freshman). However, Trevor Hodge brings in a skill-set of talents a bit different than our other QBs. During TH's senior year (with one game to go yet), he has passed for nearly the same yardage as did Sam R. his senior year; but Hodge has rushed for more yardage than Barnett, Richardson, and Rohach (during their senior years) combined .

There has been a few posters here that believe Hodge will be starting no later than RSoph year. I admit I don't know much about the guy until reading this thread and I am very hopeful. A true duel threat is the only QB that seems to work consistantly here due to the differencial in talent vs other teams in conference. We always seem to have a good passer or a good runner or neither. They always lack in one area, and when they don't, they turn the ball over or make terrible decisions. I am hopefull Hodge can carry the Seneca brand while at ISU.
Re: Update on QB Commit Hodge
I honestly think he may get playing time in prior to his junior year, but as a secondary QB kind of like Bell at OU. Not strictly a power runner, but a red-zone threat that CAN actually throw too. I guess more like a Tebow at Florida when he backed up Leak.

But if he is effective at doing that, wouldn't he just start? :twitcy:
Re: Update on QB Commit Hodge
I think Lanning and Knott will both find spots and be beasts in Wally's defense.
