    TE Depth

I was looking at the TE Depth Chart and was wondering who is the TE after Ernst leaves next year? After seeing what Brun was able to do this year, I think having a good TE helps our team move the ball. The only two I have heard of are Creekmur and Richardson (highly touted out of HS), but have no clue how the young guys are developing. Anybody have any insight?

    Re: TE Depth

I would guess there will be a large contribution from Bibbs the JuCo recruit for 2013 after a RS year.

After that I'm sure they are hoping that Richardson can play some and then hand it off to Alex Leslie.

    Re: TE Depth

Is Richardson (the TE) a JUCO? The profile on the link says he finished High School in 2010, but doesn't list a college.

EDIT: Dumb question. I should have looked at the roster first. I see he's already here but just hasn't had any playing time.

We have around 20 months to figure out who will replace Brun....I think we'll be OK.

He has been with ISU since HS, just really hasn't cracked the two deep with Franklin, Howard, Hammer and Brun all playing ahead of him since he got here.

That is what we said about Seneca!

    Re: TE Depth

Richardson has been in the program for 3 years.

Given the lack of depth, I don't think Bibbs will RS.

Watch for RS Fr walk-ons Creekmur and Boesen to get some playing time in the future.

What if he gets hurt or tired. Single threaded at any position is not an 'OK' position to be in.

Another example where "stars" aren't what they are all cracked up to be (Richardson, at least not yet).

I doubt Richardson ever gets the nod to start.

Very impressive that we beat OU out for this young man.

Uh oh, I hadn't realized he visited OU last week. I don't think its so much the case of us beating OU, but of OU coming after one of our commitments. Hopefully we can keep him, the TE position will be very thin if he gets stolen.

Interesting. Bruce Kittle, the guy recruiting Bibbs is the TE and Tackles coach, who is from Cedar Falls and went to Iowa.

Wow. That starting to make me worry a bit that he visited OU. Hopefully he sticks with the good guys.

I guess I misunderstood "after Ernst leaves..."

If we're planning for next season's injuries, I'm much more concerned with DT, where the top 3 graduate.

I guess if I have to change my answer, we have 8 months to develop a serviceable backup plan, we'll be fine. Either Richardson or Bibbs will probably be that guy, but I wouldn't count on Brun being on the sidelines much if healthy.

    Re: TE Depth

I mentioned Bibbs as a guy OU was looking at back when all you guys were freaking out about CPR being out of gas.

OU offered a week before Bedlam and he took a OV for Bedlam. He is really interested in Oklahoma right now
